Fashion Star watchers?

Admittedly, I've only seen the show a couple of times, and it was unintentional both times (just happened to catch it on E! after the original airings).

Anyways, in the last episode, Nikki created this insanely awesome maxi dress as her "high end" look:

I LOVE the pattern here. Great fabric choice, IMO, and thus I fell in love immediately and went to check it out on the H&M site, since H&M bought it:

Soooo disappointed in the fabric choice here. The pattern doesn't match up and it just looks kinda cheapy to me. Granted, I realized they had to take a high-end look and translate it in to a low-end look, but couldn't they have at least found/created a pattern that was consistent? Or at least closer to the colors of the original?

As a result, I decided to compare some of the other looks and noticed some other changes the stores have made that I feel just kind of take away from the original designs. I realize buyers/stores do this all the time in order to make designs more wearable, but in the case of the H&M dress, I think it made it worse.
