Breathing Techniques when running
I think my breathing sucks and it's slowing me down. I did a 5k on sat and I kept having to stop because my throat was on fire. I think I'm breathing too much out my mouth. Is there a right way to breathe? I'm sorry if this is a silly question but if this is something I can fix or help improve my running before I get into longer distances I'd like to work on it.
Re: Breathing Techniques when running
I have to really concentrate on my breathing, Ive found that if I don't I get really gassed out. Once I settle back down & re-focus Im usually ok. I don't know how to give you any hints on the timing b/c its different for each person & their stride...then again I don't know much b/c Im basically a newbie
Oh, I also breathe through my mouth the entire time, but thats b/c I don't get enough air if I try to inhale through my nose...I have a weird nose/sinuses.

Two shorter breaths in and one longer out through my mouth has worked great for me!
