I'll restart here.
AW, I'm referring to being a witness for Christianity which is what you think you're doing and the behavior of the Pharisees Jesus scorned which was to be as visible as possible in order to laud your own faith for the attention of others, which is what you've really been doing for at least the last week.
And then to make all that Jesus Attention Whoring worse, you put up a siggie where you behave as if it's your mere faith that people are flipping out over and not your attitude about it.
Plenty of us are Christians here. Most of us are well respected anyway. So it's a bit of a slap in the face to the rest of us Christians for you to say you are oh so persecuted for your faith. It implies that the rest of us aren't Christians. The reality is no one here cares that you are a Christian. What they care about is that in a few obvious ways, you're more like a pharisee than a witness.
Re: Since that post was 84 replies before I got back to it
FTR, I'm at the IL's until Tuesday so that's why my replies are few and far between.

And that post pretty much sums it up I reckon. HAB gets 10 points for Griffindor!

You're awesome, HAB.
My problem with the whole thing is that it's being represented as persecution or intolerance. AW wants everyone on this board (and, from her "teaching" tone, everyone everywhere who might be around her or anyone like her) to follow one of her religious tenets. Period. That's all it is. Just because she keeps saying it's like using a racial slur doesn't mean it is.
Pressed on whether she'd happily comply if someone else did the same to her, she has to either spin more BS (well, it's different than wearing a hajib, a hajib is uncomfortable, this isn't too much of a bother, plus we're not in a Muslim society...after all, isn't PCE a Christian society?) or provide more inaccurate comparisons (if someone asked her not to eat pork when dining with them, she'd comply...but this isn't like asking your friend not to eat pork with you, it's like asking the entire restaurant not to, or not to ever in case someone might mind, and then acting like you're persecuted and they're rude if they don't).
I'll agree there are times the Christian viewpoint and AW in specific do get unwarrented grief on here, but this ain't one of them.
Total sidenote alert: A supplier for DH's bike shop gave all of the employees a decidedly Griffindor-style zip-up biking sweater. We've been making HP jokes about it all week.
lol - and I am filing away the fact that DH owns a bike shop - the wife and I want to buy bikes soon!
Well, he works there - no owning. But he's working his way up! :P
Where do you live DP?
Just curious b/c I have a friend who also got some HP style zip up bike sweaters from Mavik...
Denver area. And yep, that's the vendor!
Lol. He works in Golden for Feedback.
I completely understnad why her siggie upset folks. However, I did not see it as a slap in the face to me or any other Christian on this board. It certainly didn't make me feel any less Christian. All I thought when I saw her siggie was "ruh roh" because she should have just let it go at that point. And although I didn't agree with her completely, I do not see her as a Pharisee. If you're going to call her a Pharisee, you need to be specific about how she was one.
