What could this be? Some TMI
I've noticed that in the last week or two often after I eat I feel very nauseous and my stomach hurts. At first I thought maybe it was a stomach bug, but #1, it's been going on too long now, and #2 I have no other symptoms and it goes away after awhile ( until I eat again). I'm definitely not pregnant, lol and I'm not stuffing myself. It happens pretty much no matter what I eat too, doesn't seem to make a difference what the food is. Also, TMI but lately when I go #2 there is mucas in it and the other day it was almost all mucas. Gross, I know.I'm wondering if I should call the Dr Monday but I feel kind of silly. It's not really effecting me that badly, I still eat the same amount, I just feel cruddy for a bit after the fact. Just wondering if anyone ever had this happen to them and what it turned out to be?
Re: What could this be? Some TMI
I would go get it checked out. Better safe than sorry.
In the meantime, have you tried looking up the symptoms on WebMd? I don't believe in trying to diagnose yourself but it might put your mind at ease until you get to a doctor. Having pain after eating and mucus in your poo is NOT normal and is probably a sign something is up.
It could be a number of issues - I would advise against trying to webmd, or google your symptoms. (I see patients regularly w/ those symptoms. MOST of the time it is the gallbladder, on a few occasions it has been other issues stomach, intestinal issues).
The best thing to do: stay away from google & schedule an appt w/ your PCP asap. Until then, try and stay away from greasy foods (which could trigger pain if it actually is your gallbladder).
Good Luck :-)
Thanks! Lol Dr Google is nobody's friend ;^)
I think sometimes going in with some information can be helpful. My husband was super sick upon return from our wedding/honeymoon. I did some research and all of his symptoms fit with meningitis. We took him to his primary who looked him over and said, "Well, I'm sure it's not meningitis. I haven't seen that in my x years as a doctor. Why don't we do some tests and send you home to rest"
Luckily I didn't accept this. I told the doc that if we hadn't just been in Mexico I would be more relaxed about his symptoms and how I had never in 4 years seen my husband lay in bed a day let alone three. My internet research of symptoms just left me feeling in my gut it wasn't something minor. Well....the doc said, "If it'll give you piece of mind the ER will process everything faster....." so I basically convinced the doctor to send us to the ER.
The ER doc did a more thorogh exam (had hubby take his pants off), found a rash on his legs and became concerned (rash did not disappear with pressure, i forgot the medical term). Anyway.....they did a spinal tap and guess what? He had meningitis and was hospitalized for three days.
While I don't recommend a self diagnoses or using the internet IN PLACE of your doctor, there is NOTHING wrong with doing a little research and being informed. If I hadn't done so and pushed this idiot to send us for tests my husband could have become even worse. And if it had turned out to be bacterial instead of the viral meningitis that it was he could be dead if I hadn't pushed! I know that's an unusual case but something to think about...................
