How do you use your B&B Surf Spray?

Today I used it for the first time.... I haven't washed my hair since Friday and I decided I wanted to try not to wash it today, but was going out to brunch with a bunch of friends and had to be presentable. So, used a little dry shampoo at the roots, I curled my hair with a curling iron, and then afterwards I sprayed some of the surf spray onto my dry curled hair and sort of scrunched it then took a blow dryer to it (gently). It came out pretty good if I do say so myself! In typical fashion my curls fell out a couple hours later, but I do have a nice wave left over.

Was wondering how others have found it to work best for them?

Re: How do you use your B&B Surf Spray?

  • I use the Aquage sea salt spray, but I spray it on wet hair and let it air dry.  I scrunch it initially but then keep my hands off it while it's drying.  I pretty much do it when I'm feeling lazy (like today).

  • I usually curl my hair, use my hair spray it, and then spritz with my Surf Spray. Finish my running my hands through the tight curls. I maintain good curl and waive all day like this.

What product are you using prior to curling your hair? I've found that to be the single most important factor in holding my curls.

  • This time, nothing.  What should I use?  Last time I hairsprayed and it didn't do anything. Actually I think they fell out quicker when I used hairspray that one time.   I ordered a different type of hair spray and it's on the way.  I recently bought Aquqage uplifting foam but that is for the roots only, and I haven't used it yet.
  • I curl my hair with a flat iron.  Then I spray surf spray on the ends of my hair, and while the spray is still wet I scrunch my hair while drying it with a blow dryer.

I use B&B Brilliantine before drying my hair, and am usually trying for waves rather than curls.

  • how long is your hair and what texture?  mine is right past my shoulders and have been wanting to try something like a beach spray but know if my hair was long enough.  my hair is thick and pretty straight with some wave but not pretty wave at all nor is it consistent.  sorry for lack of editing on cell phone

  • My hair probably goes to mid-breast and is fine and straight. So, pretty much the opposite of you :)

     I have brilliantine as well!

  • I usually start with this:

And then spray this all over:

Blow dry, then curl, then hairspray. Also, make sure you don't do anything to your curls, including hairspray them, until they're no longer hot to the touch.

On second-day hair, I use dry shampoo (I don't love the B&B dry shampoo, sadly, since I love their other products), and hairspray.

I used to refuse to spend this kind of money on product, but it really does make such a huge difference. Good luck! :)

That thickening hair spray sucks on me.  I really didn't like it at all, sadly.  But that is good to know about not spraying until they are no longer hot to the touch. I don't think I knew that!

  • I use it on wet hair when I don't feel like fixing my hair (my hair is naturally curly).

I just spray it in and then I spray a little in my hands to make sure I have enough in there. Then I rub my hands through my hair. I just separate my hair into small little chunks, twist and then air dry. Before I leave the house I separate the curls and that's pretty much it.
