Mexico for NYE - too early to book?
Very few properties show availability through Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity. Most show "no rooms available" or just don't show up. I get the impression that rooms haven't been released more than they're sold out. For those who go away at this time of year, when do you normally book? With air being as pricey as it is, I want to book as soon as I'm able.

Our wedding on Wilson Island!
Thanks! Ok, that's kinda what I was thinking. I'm looking to do an adults-only, AI for 6 nights. I'm getting really slim pickings on the three websites - a bit more inventory if I look on their websites directly, but then the overall prices go up since I'll have to book my air separately.
As for traveling over the holidays, our families have gotten used to it. We missed Christmas this past December for our Thailand trip. They balked at first, but they know I love to travel and have limited timeframes since I work in education.
Did you tell me you liked Zoetry in RM? How about compared to Secrets Maroma and Excellence Playa Mujeres? All are going to be right around the same price from what I can tell - not a fan of Zoetry allowing kids. Do any of those three really stick out as a clear winner? Anywhere else you'd consider? I know you've traveled quite a bit!
In Mexico, I've been to Zoetry Casa Del Mar (Cabo), Dreams Los Cabos, Secrets Silversands, Iberostar Grand Paraiso, Secrets Maroma, and Zoetry in RM. If you really want adults only, I think Secrets Maroma is fabulous! I did really like the Zoetry resorts, but I would be concered about kids during that time of year. When we were at Casa Del Mar, there were only two kids and they were older. We went in late January, though. I don't recall seeing any kids at Zoetry in RM, but, it's a chance you take. One nice thing about Casa Del Mar was that you could easily get to Dreams Los Cabos, so we went over there for meals and everything was included. Zoetry in RM is pretty close to Secrets Silversands, but honestly, I didn't really like that resort. It was too active and loud. The Iberostar is a really nice resort, but it's SO BIG. That's not my taste, but I know a lot of people who love it. I have never been to Excellence, but I have heard good things about it. I was actually considering going to one of the Zoetry resorts this summer, but my FI can't travel to Mexico (work restriction) and air to the DR is almost $1K/person from AZ! I then considered St. Regis in PR or Bal Harbor, but I got overruled- TO SEE FAMILY! UGH
Glad to hear your family is taking it well! We literally got tears- yes, tears- when we mentioned going to London. We only get 4 weeks of vacation a year and our families are pretty adamant about us spending 1-2 weeks of vacation to see them. As much as I love them, it's really a thorn in my side.
