Foundation for acne-prone skin
Hey ladies!
I'm mostly a lurker around this board, but today I have a question! I have acne-prone skin, especially around my chin and jawline. I am looking for something to cover up and even out my skin, but that won't cause further breakouts. I've been using CoverGirl TruBlend for a while, but it seems to make things worse.
I don't care if it's liquid or powder - whatever will do the job!

Most of my acne is around my chin and jawline too. I've heard acne in that area can be caused by hormone issues.
Anyhoo, I switched to mineral makeup and it really helped my skin. I personally use Bare Escentuals, but I think any mineral makeup is fine. The key that I found was that I needed to find makeup that sat on my skin and didn't seep into my pores like liquid or mousse makeup does. I also found that drugstore brand makeup makes me break out more than high end brands that you get from Sephora or Ulta or department stores.
I LOVE maybelline Dream Liquid mousse.
It goes on really smooth, blends easily and it's about the only foundation I've ever had that doesn't make me breakout. I usually get breakouts on my jawline, around my mouth and on my chin as well. I'll never try another foundation.
Bonus: It's really affordable.
I've had good results with Neutrogena Skin Clearing foundation in the past.
Right now I'm using Garnier's BB cream, and that's been fine, but others have had issues with breaking out from it.
I also just switched from Yaz to NuvaRing so I think it may be related to the BC switch, as well. I really want to stay on NuvaRing, though, so I would love to find a makeup/ topical treatment to nip this in the bud rather than switching back to the pill.
Yeah I switched BCP too and I think that has really helped. I noticed my breakouts were occuring around my period and by the time they would clear up, it was time to start my period again. I switched to a generic from of Seasonale and it's really helped my skin. I'm afraid of what is going to happen when I stop taking BCP.
