Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Kathleen just responded to my BMB mod with the following:
Hi everyone,
These buttons have been on your profiles for over two years. We did not make any recent changes.
We don't have any plans to add new sharing features for social media within the community. We've received many complaints about this and are taking them into consideration.
There was just an ETA on Kathleen's response on my BMB:
We're planning on leaving them up for private view -- meaning you can share your profile alone, if you choose to -- and remove them for public view. We'll also remove the option ASAP for Bump profile names to be shared.
If you have additional concerns, please let me know. I'll get back to you shortly with an ETA for the removal.

When did Google+ launch again? A few months ago?
Edit: June 2011, less than a year.
FWIW I never noticed the buttons because my noscript addon in my browser blocks them unless I temporarily allow everything on the page.

I have never noticed this before, and I know I would have. People are not stupid. We would have know if theis was a thing. Our board is especially aware of PERSEC and if things were able to link to FB we would have known about it and spread the word all the time.
