Umm...there's Captain in the syrup.

hell - just make it without the nutella or just make the syrup for regular french toast.
There is RUM in the syrup - RUM.

That's one way of looking at it. My goal is to make this on Saturday, I'll let you know how freakin' awesome it is.
ETA: I didn't understand the love of Nutella for a long time and then I tried it. I was hooked.
