B&M Monday?

Anything?

Re: B&M Monday?

  • I woke up feeling crappy today (headache, stuffy nose, slightly scratchy throat) and then D woke up stuffy. Luckily he doesn't seem to mind and keeps inhaling and exhaling really fast to make sniffy noises which are pretty cute.  He also got up an hour earlier than he usually does so I didn't get to sleep in for as long as I had hoped.

  •  I hurt my back on Saturday(no idea how, seems like I pulled something) and of course I'm in spring break this week. Not exactly how I wanted to spend my time off- in pain :(

  • A co-worker put in her 2 weeks yesterday so my work load is going to get even bigger next week.  I'm so dreading it.

Parker is getting his last 2 teeth and he was a bear this morning.  I feel bad for his daycare lady.  I told her to call me if he doesn't calm down, but I secretly hope she can handle him today because I'm not in the mood to deal with him!  That makes me sound like a horrible parent...

  • I'm incredibly jealous of everyone with a spring break, which is dumb because I get plenty of vacation time. It's just not a good time to take off right now.
  • I've been battling a cold since we got home from Europe at the end of last week. The weekend was miserable. I'm finally feeling better today and hope it's gone by tomorrow.

  • It seems that the last few Monday mornings I wake up at 4:30-5ish and can't get back to sleep. I'm not wide awake, but it's annoying enough because I know I'm not asleep. Then just before my alarm goes at 7 I fall back asleep and really don't want to get up.

  • On Spring Break so really, really enjoying my time off... just one thing in addition to the typical, my house is messy and I need to clean it kind of B&M...

The beginnings of a relationship are super fun but I still have some MAJOR walls up... and it sucks. I just wish I could go into this relationship as open-hearted and optimistic as he is... but I know I'm jaded. He says he understands but I'm not sure if he does and hope he'll continue to be patient with me. The last thing in the world I want to do is hurt him. I wish I could be as optimistic and eager as he is... but I'm just not. It's like I once upon a time, I found everything I wanted in someone and he totally walked away. Now I'm searching for something different and I know Jacob isn't going anywhere but I'm just doubting if my heart will ever truly love again... it's awesome and fun. I can see it happening with him and it's happening slowly, just much more slowly than it's happening with him. He's absolutely wonderful but the walls just aren't coming down as fast as his feelings are going and I'm just going slower than him, which is fine as long as he's fine with it. I just kind of miss that innocence aspect of newfound relationships, you know? Just staying in prayer over it and taking it a step at a time.

Im sorry you're having such a hard time sleeping :( right now you probably need more sleep than ever!! You're just about a week away :) getting excited??

Sorry you're not feeling well. How was the trip?! Did you have fun??

  • I remember not sleeping well at the end of my pregnancy so I made sure I took lots of naps!  But I was lucky in that I was off work from about 28 weeks on because of the timing of summer holidays.

My B&M is that Mackenzie is teething and has been waking up 2, 3, or 4 times in the night and crying inconsolably.  Tylenol doesn't seem to help, the only thing that helps is for me to nurse her back to sleep.  I'm scared of starting a habit of her wanting to eat in the night since she has been sleeping 12 hours at night since about Christmas time.  I honestly don't know how mom's do it when their babies wake up in the night all the time.

Also, I'm worried about her appointment tomorrow.

Try ibuprofen instead of acetaminophen.  We have always had better luck with that change.  If nursing works and puts her back to sleep do it.  I wouldn't worry about forming a habit at this point.  Both of you need sleep and ifi t works great.  If for some reason she continues to wake up even when she isn't teething then you can deal with it then.

Parker didn't start sleeping through the night until he was about 10 months old.  I never really minded.  I would rather expect to wake up every night versus him sleeping through most of the time and then not for a few weeks.  I think it would have been so much harder to adjust.

Thanks for the advice.  We do have some infant Advil on hand but I haven't tried it yet.  We will try it tonight if we need to.  Also, for the sake of our sleep I will keep nursing her at night if she needs it and like you said, deal with it after she is done teething if it becomes a problem.  Thanks again!

  • Ahhhhhh!  I have a new one!

I just found (and plucked) my first Grey hair.  Oh no!  I blame Mackenzie Smile

This extra sucks because I don't colour my hair, mostly because I'm too cheap, and this means I'm going to have to start soon.  Grey hairs show up really well in a dark brown head of hair.  Noooooooooooooooo!

  • My stomach continues to act funny. Before, the extreme pain/nausea seemed to happen every two or three weeks, but it happened last Thursday and then yesturday. And I called the doctor on Thursday to get my test results and she said they all came back normal. I feel bad for only working 1 hour on Thursday because I'm extremely behind (I have the workload of about two people), but I felt so horrible I could hardly concentrate.

I remember feeling that EXACT same way.  But, in the end if wasn't nearly as bad as I pictured.  Even the pricking of my finger wasn't bad.  We are just the lucky ones to get it. :)  And, think about it.  You only have 9 ish weeks to go.  You will be able to handle it, promise!  Let me know if you have any questions or need any advice.  I did message you back on fb though.

  • Mondays after a holiday are just hard!

I had a hard time waking up this morning and so I was running late.  Then I couldn't find my belly band so I had to safety pin my pants together.  Then I get to work and realize I'm wearing the pants that the hem came out of.  So I had to move the safety pin from my waist to the hem and try out a hair elastic to keep the waist together which did not work out well.  I then had to borrow a safety pin from someone at work for my waist.  But that safety pin was too small and kept coming open.

I'm home now and still can't find my belly band!!  Update:  I just mentioned to DH about not knowing where my belly band is and of course he finds it in two seconds!

I'm not a mama to be or anything, but at least you now have the information so that you can best prepare yourself for LO's delivery!

I have to disagree with Tara here. I was feeding Ella every time she woke up and it got to be a really bad habit. It started with teething and I figured we'd just get through it -- but even when she wasn't teething she was in the habit of waking up. She just kept waking up more and more so that she could get a snack. I'd feed her because I knew we could all get back to bed sooner. Finally I seriously thought I was going to lose my mind from lack of continuous sleep. DH started getting up with her and giving her a sippy cup. She quickly (like seriously within 2-3 nights) went back to waking up only once a night and now she usually STTN.

It super duper sucks to hear them cry, especially when you are all tired, but maybe come up with a schedule -- like no nursing until 2 am or something. I promise you that you will be thankful you encouraged her to self soothe. (PS: I still nurse a couple times a day -- but taking away the nursing to sleep and night time feeds really made her a much better sleeper)

I know it will be fine..and I only have 9 weeks....and it is minor compared to what some other moms-to-be go through...but It was just sucky news of the day. I wasn't that much over the cutoff for the 1 hour, so I had myself convinced I'd be fine with this one.

I'm getting excited, today at my Dr.'s appointment she told me baby is taking about all the space it can right now. Helps knowing that this pain won't last a lot longer. I'm hoping that things change and baby decides it's time to come out sooner rather than later! Right now I've had very few signs that labor is right around the corner.

Hugs! Sorry :( That totally stinks, but like Laura said, it's not that much longer to go, and you have some great resources to help you.
