If you have all over blonde highlights....
and are naturally dark blonde, light brunette, is it possible to do all over color and keep your similar shade of blonde? I tend to get brassy toned hair pretty easily so I am not sure I could ditch the bleach but I would love a shorter visit to the salon.
TIA
Re: If you have all over blonde highlights....
Do you use a "purple" shampoo? That will help tone down the brassiness. I use the Bumble and bumble one, but have also used the Clairol one in the past, and I think Aveda makes one.
Sorry, I'm no help with the coloring question.

I have naturally dark blond with highlights/lowlights.
My hair pulls to gold (i.e.brassy) if I do not take care of it. It has to be kept out of the sun and use a high quality color safe shampoo. Most of the purple shampoos are designed to take the yellow out of virgin white hair and are too harsh to use on highlights. You'll get a "boost" the first time, but subsequent washings will strip your color.
I wear a hat in the sun and use a good shampoo and condition. (Goldwell)
Hair color is hair color, an all over blond will fade and go brassy in the same manner if not properly cared for.
I use purple shampoo, plus I use the redken blonde leave-in 1x a week.
I would say that in order to fight the bleached/brassy look my stylist has been toning down the highlights a bit, so they're more golden, less bright, if that makes sense. Makes upkeep easier, esp since I like to go a bit longer btwn appts.
