How often does your run suck?
Today's run sucked. Totally.
Granted, my lunch of a footlong hot dog with saurkraut and a diet pepsi wasn't really a good choice, but I still gave it about 45 minutes before heading out. The wind was in my face most of the way and that awful feeling that lasts from minute 5-10 started right away and didn't really ease up. Then the gastro feelings started. i walked a fair bit of the way and only put in 3K.
But I'm heading back out tomorrow am - have to replace it with a great run!
So how often does this happen to y'all?
Re: How often does your run suck?
me too! I have tried everything to limit the amount of food or what I have throughout the day but once I come home and go running, it is different.
Yep! It happens! I went on a 26 mile, hilly bike ride on Saturday and ran 8 miles on Sunday. It sucked bad. Thankfully, I wasn't sore, but I was just very tired. I ended up walking the last mile since it was all up 234 stairs and then another hill after that. But whatevs! I still did it!
Just think, if you keep running and one of your runs suck, it'll be faster than the last sucky run!
Ooof that sounds like a bad pre-run meal! And only 45 minutes to digest.
My runs suck as often as the next guy's... once a week isn't out of the question. The good news is that the bad ones help us appreciate the good ones! My runs around the time of ovulation are BAD. But the next ones are better. Just ride it out.

Ok can I just say how completely thrilled I am to read this! All you H&F nesties make some of the same semi-bad choices as I do! Haha! Thank you for making me feel normal! Im totally someone who goes for a run & then comes home & goes out for pizza 3hrs later Lol.
Back to the topic @ hand- I can also add to the list of things making a run sucktastic: having PMS & thus having boobs that feel like giant freakin watermelons when you (attempt to) run
Normally once a week or so.
Yes, food can definitely be a huge factor in a sucky run. My worst choice once was crab cakes and a salad with ranch dressing before a run. Big azz fail, I'll never do that again!
This is why my 3.5 miles turned into 37 minutes of ass this morning.
My long run this past weekend SUCKED. I could not figure out why b/c my pace and distance were normal, and my route was gravel instead of asphalt, and less hilly, so it should have been good.
Maybe IHOP for breakfast was the culprit
I have a bad run about every 2 weeks or so.
