Re: Did anyone do anything fun this weekend?
We went down to Portland on Saturday night to meet up with some friends who were visiting from Cali and stayed with them for Easter morning. Lots of kids but super fun.
And, on the way home, we got to witness a three cop near shoot-out at a rest stop. It was INSANE! and right at our car too (like, three sheriff cars pulled up, two of them blocking our car, they get out with assault rifles and swat gear, as they scream to random people "GET OUT OF THE WAY! GET OUT OF THE WAY!" and proceeded to close in on a broken down van with 2 people in it). We're still trying to figure out what they did. The van had a sign "Need money, our of Gas" with a scary looking lady and dude in it. I would have gotten video of it, but Jimi locked me and Newt in the backseat (rightly so) so I couldn't reach my phone in the front seat. If the guy had fired shots, theres a really good chance they would have hit our car, but thankfully it didn't escalate to that. When we finally left, they were mostly ignoring the lady, she was just sitting on the ground handcuffed shaking because she was obviously freaked out, and all three cops were talking to the guy. It was all very exciting.
On Friday my mom & sister came up and we went for mani/pedis and then we all went out to dinner with Jon. In the middle one of our friends dropped by the restaurant and had some bites and dessert with us. That was fun, it was nice to hang out.
Saturday we went out with our realtor's dad to check out houses. I'm annoyed that he only scheduled 4. The first two were crap and by the time we got to the 3rd we were an hour ahead of schedule. We could have seen 3-4 more. I feel like the guy almost held us back and kind of wasted the morning. We did see two that we had rated pretty highly but they both had some fatal flaws.
Yesterday we did absolutely nothing. We read, watched movies, hung out, played Scramble with Friends and were basically lazy all day long. It was nice.
SIL and her BF were here on Friday night and they went out to dinner with us.
On Saturday we had SnS breakfast (yummmm) and attempted an easter egg hunt with El. She wasn't that into it so we hid eggs at the house instead for her to find when she woke up from her nap. She liked that much better!
Yesterday we just chilled. I finally started reading Tina Fey's "Bossypants" and it's really funny.
PAX East was pretty much awesome.
And Samma had her first Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday. Yay!
