How was everyone's easter?
Ours was really laid back....we spend all day Sat (9-730) moving dirt (15 cu.yds) from our driveway to the back and front yards (we had to re-grade lots of the area around the house and also fill in a dip in our backyard. i am so sore!! the most work i've done physically in a long time.
yesterday we kept it casual bc a. we were exhauseted and b. we didn't know if we'd need to work again in the yard (we didn't). Did a small egg hunt for B in the front yard and he LOVED it. i'm sure we'll be hearing about the easter bunny and his eggs for a long time.
today we have the basement guys here fixing our caved in walls. FINALLY! i am so excited to get it fixed and move on.
how was your weekend?
Re: Did you have a good weekend?
We had our date Friday afternoon. K hasn't been sleeping well so we opted for the afternoon movie instead of the late night one. American Reunion was funny. Stifler was hotter when he was younger. Chris Klein is still yummy as ever! Nice to catch up with all the characters from the movies, not just the main ones.
Saturday we did some stuff around the house. H spent time with K at the park. H managed to start and finish The Hunger Games. So now he wants to have another date to see the movie
Sunday was even more laid back. I did clean out the bathroom closet. Made ham and scalloped potatoes for dinner. K played with some plastic eggs leftover from last year while watching the Elmo DVD we got him.
Nothing exciting for us. Just enjoying spending time together since H is off.
My Profile
Mine was surprisingly very pleasant.
Friday I left work early to go up to York and see my grandfather in the hospital. He is doing much better and has been moved out of the ICU. His facial droop was barely noticeable and his speech while garbled was understandable.
Saturday I took Raven up with my to give my Godson's their Easter baskets. They loved them and I was really happy that they were so excited over the books I gave them. Raven played in the back yard with their Golden Retriever puppy. She was having a blast running around b/c their back yard is 100x bigger then ours. At one point she took a spill chasing her ball down a slope. I didn't think much of it at the time but when we got home she was limping. I gave her some pain meds and she went to sleep for a while. When she got up she wouldn't put any weight on her right hind leg. I feel really bad. She seemed better yesterday and I haven't called home to check on her today. I'm going to try and get her to the vet on Wed if its still bothering her.
Sunday I went to my Dad's for brunch. I hadn't seen any of them since before my surgery and I was kind of dreading it. It went better then I expected. After that I went to B's parent's for their gathering. It was a ton of people as usual but it was nice. The Easter Bunny remembered not to give me any candy. I got one of the best Easter baskets I've ever received. I got a Pandora bracelet and charm, flip flops and gourmet balsamic vinegar!!
Ours was good - we did a surprising amount of random house work - washed my car, steam cleaned the carpets, etc. The spring cleaning bug got us I guess.
I did have a slight breakdown b/c I had Friday off and went shopping and realized I can't buy any clothes at all right now between growing soon and then not knowing what size I'll be and then being a SAHM. It's too many transitions, so I bought myself a wallet and then I felt better. First world problems, for sure!
The only think slightly interesting we did was that we ate out at an Asian resaurant for dinner last night. We intended on having grilled chicken & veggies, but when we opened the chicken it smelled really off (to H too - not just me). So we tossed it and went out for "Easter" dinner.
It was good. We both had Friday off so I managed to try and get a lot of chores done then.
Saturday A and I went to use a coupon for an LSU shop and they were pretty much out of everything from newborn-18 months which is what I need for both girls ugh but I managed to get H a few things and me a dress...we'll see how I look in it in the summer haha
Watched the Master's. I had a breakdown at dinner time then refused to eat (just upset my stomach getting upset) so later H went and got me a strawberry shake haha
Sunday- It was just us and I LOVED it! A was so cute searching for her little eggs in the house and opening her gazillion presents! We then lounged and I made a big breakfast and we lounged some more and cheered Bubba on.
It was really nice to just relax since we don't know if that's our last weekend or not
Very nice.
Friday I got out early from work and had lunch at my IL's. The rest of the afternoon we relaxed at home.
Saturday- I went shopping with my mom, and got some things for the babies and myself.
Sunday- Church, followed by breakfats at my house. Alessandra got to open 4 baskets and loved all her new toys and her snacks. Everyone was gone by 11 and we napped until 4. Then we went to my SIL for dinner and the egg hunt. Alessandra had so much fun picking them up, and I enjoyed watching her while I once again noticed how she is growing so fast! I had told dh that he needed to help her pick up the eggs, but to our surprise she filled a basket all on her own.
Glad to hear it was mostly a good weekend for everyone!
Ours was pretty awesome. Friday, my dinner went off without a hitch (first time I cooked for anyone since Feb) And we had a lot of fun!
Saturday I spent the whole day helping my mom prep dinner for Sunday. I was the official peeler. Seriously, I peeled 7 pounds of carrots, 36 hard boiled eggs, 3 pounds of beets, 15 pounds of potatoes.. grated a ton of horseradish. But we got pretty sloshed, so the time went by pretty quickly. And we had so much fun. When did my mom become my friend? LOL And I made a kick butt ginger/apple/bourbon cake for Sunday.
Sunday we were over early to help finish everything up.. then it was a day of grazing lol. It was nice, both sides of my family were there, and my FIL actually came over too! Hell hath frozen over lol.
