Help diagnosis me. Plantar Fasciitis?
Well I think I may have this. But I am not sure. My bottom of my foot has been bothering me a lot. It's like a dull pain. It feels like the bottom of my foot is bruised. When I am in my running shoes it doesn't hurt as bad. I still ran about 2.5 half miles yesterday and I didn't feel to bad but I didn't want to injury my foot more. I have been running 3 5k's a week (started this about a month ago) which is a big increase of what the amount of running I was doing before. Do you think I should take a break from running for a week?

Re: Help diagnosis me. Plantar Fasciitis?
The biggest clue with PF is the first step out of bed, if that hurts it likely is. It is from the heel and into the arch (big toe side)...

Next Race: ARun for Young 5K - January 7, 2012
I feel like if you can identify a pain in the same area for more than a week, it's usually a good idea to have a doctor take a look at it. I recently went to the podiatrist for some foot pain I was having during running, and it turned out to be PF, even though I didn't have the "classic" symptoms (AM foot pain, heel pain) - I was having pain in my arch almost at the ball of my foot, but only when running.
You can try icing your foot (rolling it on a frozen water bottle is what my dr. suggested) and stretching your calves to see if that helps.

Yes please!
I have it and it doesn't feel like a dull pain, it feels like a ripping pain as soon as I step out of bed. Sometimes I get charlie horses in my arch of my foot and I can't move my toes. I have no advice as I don't run! but i hope your foot feels better.

I went to my regular doctor for diagnosis.
What helps me is, chiropractor, ice bottle like someone mentioned, stretches, rolling my foot on a ball, or using my awesome foot massager, ibuprofen, and I have a boot that I wear at night to help keep my foot from pointing all night. Even with all this sometimes I have some incredible pain. Good luck!
