***Skipping*** Vegas Wedding

What did you do for your wedding? Why would you have switched it? Did you want a small wedding and ended up with a big wedding? Did you want to elope instead? I'm super nosy.

I got married in Vegas and it was awesome. Lots of people tried to talk me out of it, but it was pretty much the easiest thing ever.

I've been thinking about my wedding a lot because we just celebrated our 1 year anniversary and this time last year I was just coming back from my honeymoon.

Re: ***Skipping*** Vegas Wedding

  • I love my wedding, it was all really fun and I got drunk and danced a lot with family and friends but honestly...at the time spending all that money (we spent upwards of 10 grand) seemed like a necessary evil. But now that H & I are trying to save to buy a house, I kind of wish we would've taken the Vegas route, or at least not spent as much. It's nice having the pictures and the memories but it was a lot of money we could have saved to buy our house sooner. I still love my wedding though, it was pretty damn great. Just...expensive.

  • It was our first option. Then I wanted more people to come. Sadly, the only people from my friends who showed up were my MOH, my BFF and like 1 other person besides family. Our photographer sucked. I just hated it all. I should have stuck with Vegas.

  • :(   I'm sorry!

That stinks about your friends. Was it in your home town?

I think you should take a trip to Vegas and "renew your vows" but really just use it as an excuse to take some pics in front of a chapel and an Elvis impersonator!

Then again, Vegas is my Disneyland. I <3 it!

We did have folks say they would come (to Vegas) and then when it came time to buy the tickets they were all "We're broke!"

But a year ago you were so excited about it and you said you were definitely going to be there? Whatev.

  • Yeah. It was pretty much in my hometown. I don't really have one but it was central to where all of my friends were. I had one fly in from effin New Hampshire, so if you live 3 hours away you can show up.

We're going to Vegas next month to celebrate me graduating.  I'm excited.
