hi ladies,
I posted a few weeks ago about my tile remorse (which I still have, but I can live with it) and requests for carpet color recommendations. Most of you voted for a pale grayish color carpet, which is the one we went with. I think it's pretty, but it looks almost white installed so I fear it'll get grungy fast!
oh well, for now, I'll enjoy it in all its brightness. ![]()
Anyway, here are a couple of "befores" of my unfinished basement and "almost finished afters". sorry for the crappy iphone photos.

playroom closet (nice and big for my daughter's gazillion toys):
Looking towards the wet bar area (during framing):

the tile that gave me such angst next to the carpet you all helped me pick:

I'm already considering changing some paint colors, but I can live with them for now. I can't wait for it to be finished (we're almost into week 8 of a 6 week project) so I can start decorating!!
Re: Basement progress pics! lots of PsiP
I'm in Ellicott City (Howard County), but grew up in a DC suburb. Whereabouts are you thinking of moving to?
and thanks! :-)
I think it's about 1500 sq. ft.
Looks amazing! 1500 sq ft is a lot of added space! Especially considering we are closing on our first home and its only 1500 sq ft total! lol
Do you mind if I ask what color you used for the walls of the bathroom? It looks so bright and cheery!

What a nice basement conversion! I love the columns you used.
I think the blue is cheery and fun for a basement. It will be so nice to have such a big playroom for your daughter!

Looks great! We redid our basement and put french doors between the family room and the play room and the exercise room and family room. They work out really well. You will love that space, but it will be amazing how that closet that seems big now still won't fit all your toys! I swaer they multiple at night.

The paint color in the bathroom is BM Spring Sky:

It's the same color in the office and the exercise room and it's actually much lighter in person. My iphone camera took really horrible photos.
thanks! I'm glad I put the french doors in, it brings more natural light into the office, which only has one small window. Although now my daughter can see me working in there so she won't be able to use her playroom while I'm working! oops. I'll have to see if I can find something to cover the windows but still let light filter through.
The color I used in the main area is BM Hot Spring Stones. It looked more gray on the chip and others who have used it say it looked more gray on the wall, but in our basement lighting it looks very tan. oh well!

yes, great idea!! We already bought a cheap Ikea rug to put in the play area, and I'm on the hunt for a larger one for the TV area.
haha! very true!! I can't believe how many toys DD has already and she's only 15 months old. I swear we've only bought maybe 10% of them for her. The rest were gifts! Luckily, we also have a huge walk-in closet under the stairs and another big walk-in in my office. If those all get filled, then we seriously need to purge!
Probably somewhere in Baltimore County, but we have a lot of looking to do still.
