Zimmerman's lawyers quit

CNN is reporting - they have a live stream of the press conference.  They're quitting because they've lost touch Zimmerman.  Hmm...

Re: Zimmerman's lawyers quit

  • (conspiracy theory) OR they're quitting because once he's been charged with murder, they have to get court permission to withdraw as counsel and they think he's GUILTY.
    kiss it, nest.

    Maybe he killed himself

I don't know if that'd make me happy or sad. Happy for the obvious reason.  Sad because I didn't get to hear him suffer.

  • I thought something like this might happen after that website went live last night.  I cant imagine his counsel was happy with that decision.

  • Are theses the new lawyers or the original ones?  The day they announced no grand jury (was that yesterday?) I noted that the article included a statement from his "new attorney".  Did that guy quit, too?

Ok, I just read the article, and it says the last time they talked to him was Sunday.  Isn't today only Tuesday?  That doesn't seem like too unreasonable of a time frame, so I'm totally thinking they want out because they don't like his chances.

  • CBS news is saying that against the advice of his counsel, Zimmerman contacted the Special Prosecutor handling the case.

I read that, too, but that's a good reason right there to withdraw (failure to cooperate).  It's actually a better reason IMO than losing contact (for one and a half days.)

  • Well, if I was GZ and had the entire world hating me, I would be in pretty close contact at all times with my lawyers. But since I don't follow people in the dark, kill them after they defend themselves, then claim self defense, I guess I would treat my lawyers differently.......oh, and apparently he called Sean Hannity. Good one.

I watched the press conference, and the media is seriously outta control. They asked over 12 times "where is GZ?" I mean, really? Then again, why the press conf. in the first place? Don't attorneys fire clients? This isn't exactly news to me. But on the flip side, I can see how Hal Urhig and Craig Sonner MIGHT know more than they let on, and are bowing out bc they know something.

Not sure what to think, but the media is really doing a number.

  • Hmmm...after watching the coverage this evening, I'm starting to think he took whatever money he got in donations and skipped town.  I think the lawyers suspect that and have withdrawn so they can have plausible deniability.

  • I'm guessing they're not getting paid.

I don't know why I find this articular aspect so interesting, but I keep changing my theory and now this is it.  Anderson Cooper just said that GZ never retained them and they never even met him.  So...AW lawyers?  So bizarre!

  • I think StrawberryBlondie's got it right. They were just on Today and the reason they kept giving for dropping him was Zim's statement that these guys weren't his lawyers, just his legal advisors. That must have tipped them off that he wasn't planning on paying up.
