Have any of you ever sold as a short sale?
My fiance' bought a house a few years before we met and we had to sell it to take a better job in another city. Long story short, he had to short sale it. Has anyone ever sold their home as a short sale? What kind of effect did it have on your ability to buy another home. The SS went through September, 2010. Are we ok now? He had really great credit before and most of his debt is paid off.
Re: Have any of you ever sold as a short sale?
You can certainly try to see what you can get approved for.
My sister was just approved for a mortgage a few years after her short sale went through.
I sold my home in 2010 short sale as a result of a divorce. It takes a min of 2 years with a "qualifying" event to get approved and 4 years if not. Can you qualify on your own? We are buying a short sale now and the loan is in my DH name but my name will also be on the deed.
