Re: What are you reading?

  • I was attempting to read the Lord of the Rings series, finally, but I got distracted with books for work.

  • Teen chick lit.  Footfree and Fancyloose, which is the sequel to Bassackwards and Belly Up.  They're both quick reads and moderately entertaining.

If you like teen dystopian lit (like Hunger Games), I liked the Matched trilogy (by Ally Condie).

  • I am almost done with Tina Fey's "Bossypants". I've found it to be a very easy, funny read.

Favorite line - she is talking about working 80 hour weeks on 30 Rock:

"I can't believe I ever complained about the hours on SNL, which now seem like a cakewalk. That's all I did the first two years - walk around looking for cake."

  • Has anyone read 'Divergent' (Veronica Roth)?

  • Still reading Into The Wild. We started doing some work to the house, so I haven't been able to finish it, but so far it is really good!

  • Oh, to have the time to read like I used to...

I'm currently re-reading A Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire - Game of Thrones- Book 3)

  • I also recently read and loved Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling.  Her rationale on why she could never have a 1 night stand= hilarious perfection.

  • I'm currently reading The Orphan Sister but I'm not far enough in to tell whether I like it or not..

I am currently reading Hell's Angels: a strange and terrible saga by Hunter S. Thompson (inspired by my love of SofA). I just finished the Hunger Games Trilogy, and Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown. If you are looking for mire chick lit type books, the dirty girls social club was good (thanks to Mary for the recc). I started water for elephants, but couldn't get into it.

Hell's Angels is my FAVORITE Hunter S Thompson book!! I read it a few years ago and recently realized that I lost it in the split with my ex and ordered another copy. Huge fan.

  • Hunger games- then onto 50 shades of Grey- I bought it on the kindle so I wouldn't get the side eye from people reading it.

  • I ave been reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.  If you like the whole vampire theme, you will probably get into this.  I will warn you, there is some serious sex in this book.  Very detailed and very grahpic... it's almost soft pornish. LOL

But, the characters kind of hook you in and the story line isn't all that bad.  After this book, I'll probably head over to the 50 Shades of Grey.... I have been hearing so many people talk about the serie lately.

  • I am currently listening to The girl who played with fire on audio book while I site in traffic.

And I am reading the Tale of the Body Thief - But I have been reading it for a long time. I just dont have time to read anymore. It is #3 in Anne Rices Vampire Chronicles, and so far I have liked the series.
