And the cliffhanger...I don't get it. HOW are they going to explain that?

Didn't Jimmy watch Lucy fry? I mean, they showed it to us. He brought Hope with her to the execution. So she had a stand in? I'm very confused. Though that jail seemed to be...not maximum security by any means, so I would guess they might chalk the mistake up to that.
