We Now Live In A World Where Hot Dogs Are Stuffed Into Pizza Crust

It's already unfair that the United Kingdom gets to brag about David Beckham, having a queen and lots of old castles, but now they've got another one up on the rest of us with a new offering from Pizza Hut: Pizza crust stuffed with a hot dog. Bring it on over here and let us Americans take a closer look.

Pizza Hut's site touts the undoubtedly delicious, artery-clogging offering as such (via Fox News): "Succulent hot dog sausage bursting from our famous stuffed crust, with a FREE Mustard Drizzle."

You had us at FREE Mustard Drizzle. Actually, we might as well admit we were smitten at sausage.

The spread of the hot dug crust pizza has been slow-going, as it first appeared in Thailand and Japan years ago. That has planted some small kernel of hope in us that the pizza will make its way across the pond so we can witness it firsthand and with our own inquiring stomachs.

At least we can brag about the Doritos Locos Tacos at Taco Bell, right?

  • Hot dog stuffed crust = revolting. Ick!

Dorito tacos = yummy awesome deliciousness.  Pure genius.

  • All of our best food innovations have been made by people with the munchies at 4am. To a stoned mind a Doritios taco shell and bacon flavored mayo are SO OBVIOUS!

That the Brits did this first is proof that the war on drugs is working.

  • The only surprise here is that the UK didn't conjure this idea from the start.  Spend a few days there it's pretty clear that it must be the scary-processed-meat capital of the world.  Those people will fry up any part of an animal and eat it, and sticking a hot dog in the middle of a pizza seems like a natural outgrowth of the no-part-uneaten tendency.

  • I was going to say that sounds disgusting, but then I remembered that I once had pizza topped with pieces of corn dog.  And it was good.

Hotdog in a pizza crust makes me gag

  • This is gross. Do they have a giant circular hot dog for this?

I suppose it's no worse than pigs in a blanket.  You wouldn't eat the hotdog-stuffed crust at the same time as the rest of the pizza, you'd eat it afterwards, like a normal hotdog.

Did anyone bring up the fact that Britain is, per capita, now more obese than the US?

    Ick!

  • I've been to Korean pizza place that has sweet potato stuffed crust and cream cheese stuffed crust.

But add me to the list that thinks the hotdog crust is gross.

I refuuuuuuuuuse to believe this. REFUSE! It has been well established that America sucks at life and that the rest of the world laughs at our fat, conservative, racists, uneducated, unhealthy asses.

Assuming you have had one? I'm really curious, but frightened. We have a taco bell downstairs so could grab one for lunch.

I mean, I love doritos. So much so that they are not allowed in our house. But...this scares me a lot.

As for the hot dog pizza. I don't have words for that. Really. None.

It's called Mr. Pizza (aka Mr. Pizza Factory). It's a Korean chain, but they have 1 location in the US - in LA. It's pretty good. Which reminds me, I should go back soon.

Or two.  Or three...  Embarrassed  I have an unnatural love of tacos, and serving them in a nacho cheese Dorito shell just seems like a no-brainer to me.  I loathe Taco Bell but, damn, those Dorito tacos are really good!

Sweet! We're going to San Diego in the summer. I'm sure I can arrange to be in LA around dinner. Last trip down we managed to be in Santa Monica for dinner to visit Father's Office.

NOM at Father's Office. If you're into beer, there are a few places in the Koreatown area I can suggest, too.
