Re: Babies and bumps (to-be)

  • I want to see some bumps ladies....I miss mine (sometimes) Wink

Ups: They are getting really smart. They point to so many things now that it is all I want to do with them, even though they get bored with it. Christian has turned into my shy boy, and Zach is now the biggest flirt. It is funny to see how they are complete opposites for so many things.

Downs: No to much.  Started to get worried with Zach still not really saying much. I have a feeling we will be referred to EI Eval at the age of 2 (That is when my pedi does it), unless he starts talking a lot more before then. It's so hard because he is so smart in other ways. (Not that he isn't smart, just the actually saying words)  You can tell he is trying, the words are not coming out though, and it sounds more like babble.

Chrsitian's down is his attitude.  As we approach closer to the age of 2, I can say I now am starting to see the terrible 2's. That kid can have a serious meltdown, and usually when that happens, Zach feeds off of it and I end up with 2 toddlers on the ground screaming.

  • 38 weeks tomorrow!  Still feeling good, though I've seemed to have developed quite the case of pregnancy induced carpal tunnel syndrome.  My right fingers are almost always partially numb/tingling.  Even something as simple as brushing my teeth makes it happen.  Thankfully I'm nearly done with work, so hopefully I can deal with it more easily at home.

    Here is me today:

    image

I had my hair cut/highlighted on Saturday.  Soooo much nicer.  Its been growing so fast it was getting long and icky.

Tomorrow is Derek's birthday, so I really hope the little guy stays put.  I'd like them to have different birthdays!  Based on the fact that he's still riding pretty high and is currently dancing/kneading up a storm leads me to believe we've got a bit to go still.  Which is good, as I've still got a lot to do/pull together!

  • raynes, I love the bump and the hair!  You're looking great.

Ups:  I've had such a fun week finally getting to tell people the news.  Not only are we seeing and catching up with friends/family while we're in NY, but I love that we get to tell them in person and see their excitement.  I'm so happy that DH suggested this trip, but I think we're going to be even more sad to leave everyone this time.  So many of our friends here have just had babies, so it would have been a great environment.

Downs: I'm not sleeping well.  It's probably not helped by the jetlag, but I have to get up to pee every night, and then I can't get back to sleep.  Otherwise, though, I'm still feeling good.

Bump: I'm sure nobody else can see it, but I think I'm starting to get a little bump!  I'll try to post a pic later.

  • No new bump pic for me. Everything is going well though. I'm feeling lots of movement, but Ed has yet to feel her outside. We started clearing out the nursery (old office) this weekend, so hopefully that will get us started doing something...we have yet to buy a single big item. The only real down is that I'm up at least three times a night to pee, but as downsides go, no big deal!

  • No bump pic from me either today. I look like a hot mess (it's been one of those days).

Ups: the kicking! Ooh, and the rolling (I assume it's rolling). I can actually feel it regularly from the outside of my stomach, which is exciting.

Downs: Erm... the massive weight gain I've gone through over the last week and a half. I know there's a huge baby growth spurt between week 25-26, but I think a 6lb weight gain isn't particularly appropriate. Methinks it's more Cadbury Cream Egg than baby! LOL! No seriously though, I swelled up over night. My rings don't fit and something weird is going on with my face. I noticed it looking puffy this morning and then two other teachers remarked on it too. Indifferent (I don't mind; I'm not touchy when it's friends pointing out the obvious). I'm going to try to walk home tomorrow to get some physical activity in (damn this spd). Other than that, I've been lightheaded the last couple of days from not sleeping well.

I feel like I've written more downs than ups, but things are good as a general rule! Besides, I'll console myself that whatever the number on the scale says, I'm still in size M maternity pants (as I have been since January), so I'm not going to beat myself up too much.

  • I love checking in for this post. So exciting!

Ups: Jackson is full on crawling now. He still doesn't do it properly, but he's getting around enough that we seriously need a baby gate for our stairs. His favorite thing to do is chase down the cat or find shoes on the floor. Go figure.
Tonight was super cute. He crawled into his toy bag, pulled out the one matchbox car that he has, layed down on the pillow on the floor, and rolled it all over while babbling. DH is looking forward to buying a whole bunch of little cars so they can play together.
He also learned to blow raspberries. Some people think it's a terrible thing to teach him, but I think it's so neat that I could teach him something.

Downs: He's making this awful whining, fussing noise for as long as I leave him in his crib in the morning. Think of the most annoying noise in the world that never stops. We're transitioning me to a new job and DH to new hours, so it might take a few weeks for Jackson to transition, too. He also does the same noise every time we're in the car.

  • I'm late to the game, but I have a hard time remembering to check over here these days!!

Ups: Kellen turned a month old on Monday. I don't know where the time has gone. He's getting so big. He has lots of fat on him now, which is just adorable. And he is trying so so hard to hold his head up. He's been trying for awhile, but he can do it for up to 10 seconds at a time now!

Downs: He's started spitting up. Alot. I don't know how he's keeping any of his food in him. I tried supplementing with formula, and that just made it worse. We went back to all breastmilk, and it was the exact same. So now we are on sensitive formula, and it's making a huge difference. He's only getting about 20% formula overall, but I think it's definitely getting better!

  • I totally missed this post yesterday! woops! I'm 20 weeks this week - halfway through already... can hardly believe it.

anyway, things are awesome here. we had our A/S last week, and not only is little Q very healthy, he is a boy! he had me fooled, that's for sure. the A/S was by far the coolest part of this pregnancy... seeing him move around and look like a baby was amazing, and super emotional for me.

more ups: I feel great - I have tons of energy and can eat anything with no aversions. I'm also feeling little movements here & there. they're not that obvious yet, so I can only tell it's him when I concentrate on it, haha.

we also registered for gifts, which was fun AND stressful at the same time. we're planning on making a trip to Great Beginnings, which was named one of the best baby stores by Baby Bargains, so I'm sure that'll be fun.

downs: pelvic pain... pretty sure it's SPD. it sucks. I bought a support belt thing at BRU over the weekend but have yet to try it. I'm also STILL down 8lbs from my pre-preg weight, which has me slightly worried. Ronin is measuring on track, but I can't help but feel like I'm doing something wrong. that's pretty much it though.

    here's the 20 week bumpasaurus:

  • Aw Mandee, you look fantastic!

I had good news at my apt today, I'm GBS negative!  With how stubborn this little guy has been the whole pregnancy, I figured I'd for sure be positive.  It's nice to know we don't have to rush into the hospital!
