Long Overdue Intro?

Hi everyone! I?ve been a lurker for far too long now, dare I say months, years maybe?

I?m Dani married to A, who is a Marine. We?re in NW Florida and he?s doing the flight school thing, he has just stared Advanced. I?m a Sales Tax Auditor, VERY exciting I know (insert sarcasm). We?ve been married just over a year, together for 7 and have one awesome black lab. No human babies yet. I am quite boring, so I?ll just leave it at that Wink

Yay! I've been counting down to the winging for months now hehe. I'm not even that involved with it but it's like, oh you want to go on vacation? nope, flight school. Weekend away? nope, weekend to actually do anything with A not needing to study? Nope. Thanks flight school!! Did you go through Whiting?

  • Yup! He did. There, Jax, Corpus, and Enid. Corpus and Enid.. Not the best places in the world.. haha but we will never be back to those places.

H is finishing up his first tour out of the rag and is now finishing up Fleet IUT (to be an instructor). Then it'll be waiting for the right orders to come around! Who knows, we may end up right back down there hah!

Yeah, H always says he thought he graduated college so that he wouldn't have to study anymore and he studies more now than he ever did then!

It can be tough since (I'm not 100% on how the Corps does it) H doesn't find out what he works/flies until 5pm the night before. It's definitely forced us to cancel plans.. BUT there are certainly bright sides! He had to go down to Pensacola for over a month and I got to tag along for a week. Can't complain there! ;)  McGuires was an AWESOME way to spend St. Patty's Day and escape the rainy Pacific Northwest! :)

  • I've heard that about corpus as well. He's only been at Pensacola and now Whiting for both primary and advanced, I actually moved here from North Bend, WA  a year ago, it's one of those places that's nice to visit but its a small town that gets boring real quick although the weather is fantastic and mcguires is awesome! Hopefully next stop for us is the helo rag in San Diego before the end of the year.

  • Aw Helos! Awesome! :) One of our friends just PCSed to transition to helos. San Diego is amaaaaazing. I wish we could end up there but it would be a career killer for H.

Are you from WA originally? We met here. I go to WWU :) I'm excited to move at the end of the year, but it'll be sad to leave all the family I have here (They all live between Marysville and Mercer Island).

  • I love SD lived there as a kid (navy brat) my dad retired out of Everett and I went to HS in Stanwood (tiny town between Marysville and Mt Vernon exit 212 off the 5 lol) left for college and then moved back to North Bend until I moved here.  I know tons of people that I went to HS with that went up to Western and live in Bham. Small world...

  • The military makes the world very small :) I lived in Stanwood for two years. My mom worked at Naval Station Everett for a few years. :) I'm an Army brat, but my mom jumped all over the branches since she is civil service. I spent most of my life in Germany.

My mom now works down in Monterey, CA but I moved up here to go to UW, hated it, switched to WWU and met the H!

That's great that you are familiar with SD already. That definitely makes moving in the military MUCH easier! We're hoping to get stationed at Pax River next, but it's all up in the air at this point. Everyone always asks where we're going and I'm tired of saying, "idk"

"Well, then how do you know you're moving soon?"

    "Because the Navy says so."

    lulz.

    Now that IS small!!
Story of my life! Or when will he be done? Ummm...that changes every dang day!  Lol
Good luck for Pax, A wants to get out there evenutally too.
