Chicago - Wrigley Field/Lincoln Park Zoo

Where would you stay if these were the only 2 things you were doing in Chicago?

We will have a car and a toddler with us, so we don't really need to/want to stay downtown.  Are there any nice, reasonably priced hotels on the northside of town?

Thanks!

Re: Chicago - Wrigley Field/Lincoln Park Zoo

  • This hotel opened recently right across from the zoo. Nice location, but I haven't heard much about the hotel.

  • I'd look at VBRO and see if you could find a condo.

Ditto this.  Then you would have a full kitchen as well.

  • Best Western Hawthorn Terrace. I know, you're thinking "Best Western"? which is what I did, but it's actually really nice. My mom stayed there last time she visited and got upgraded to a suite. The bed was comfy, it had a little sitting area, and it had a mini kitchen. And it was much cheaper than a downtown hotel.

It's at Addison and Broadway, so like a 5 minute walk to Wrigely, right by lots of restaurants. And it's a 10-15 min bus ride or 3 mile walk to Lincoln Park.

And possibly parking. I'd also go this route.

  • There is a Days Inn on Diversey and Clark which is right in between and very nice or the Inn at Lincoln Park that is older but has character and a free parking lot.

You can take the 151 bus South to the Zoo or the 22/36 bus North to Wrigleyfield.  All within 2 blovks.

I  lived right there for 5 years and you can PM me if you have any questions.

  • Hi, friend!

We've stayed at the Majestic Hotel, which is right in that area.  They really cater to Cubs fans, and may have some package deals if you want to take a look.  It's an older/historic hotel, so the rooms are pretty tight, but it worked for us.
