Dreams Tulum

Just booked our vacation for the 1st week in August.  Going to Dreams Tulum.  It will be 2 adults and a 5 (almost 6) year old boy.

Any tips or suggestions?  I have been to Secrets Resorts, but never Dreams.

Really looking forward to it!!

Re: Dreams Tulum

  • We just got back from Dreams Huatulco on Tuesday.  And it was amazing for little ones.  The kids club was fantastic.  You literally could drop them off at 10 am and not pick them up till 10 pm.  (we didn't do that...  but when you do need a few hours of alone time, knowing your child will be in good hands is really nice.) Some of the activities were awesome.  Even just the fact that they projected a kids movie on a wall of the hotel every night was neat.  Just pull up a lounge chair, grab some of the popcorn they provided... and enjoy.

As for tips...  I don't really have any.  It's such an easy vacation.  Have a look at the daily newsletter every day and pick and choose what you want yourself and your son to take part in.  I was also glad to read the Trip Advisor reviews about the restaurants at the resort.

I loved the fact that there were no reservations for the a la carte restaurants... no bracelets...  and no towel cards.  I'm guessing Dreams Tulum is the same.

    August will come soon enough!

  • We loved Dreams Tulum! It is a long way from the airport, so be sure to bring snacks or something to do for the hour and a half or so in the van. The staff was fantastic, we really enjoyed all of the restaurants, and I've heard the kids club is great too. Have a wonderful time!

  • I haven't stayed at Dreams, but just wanted to say you are going to LOVE Tulum - it is so awesome - the most beautiful beach.  If you can, try to do a daytrip to go snorkeling in a cenote - so awesome.  And the Tulum ruins are really cool too.  Have fun!  I can't wait to go back there someday.
  • LOVED Dreams Tulum, pretty good food and excellent service. I booked a massage and they actually reduced the price w/ a little coaxing. also, make sure your husband has at least one pair of pants for dinner in the "better" restaurants. GO to the French one as a romantic date!

go to the cenotes (underwater caves) if you are afraid of going the whole way you can snorkel around the  more open caves.

and go to XEL-HA a super neat eco park w/ animals, etc. GORGEOUS!

bring comfy shoes to go to the ruins b/c its a ton of walking but wear a swimsuit and bring some flip flops b/c you can get in the water there and cool off. amazing views! enjoy!!

  • Fun! I haven;t been but we're going to Secrets Maroma in November. We were supposed to go to Secrets Capri for our honeymoon in 2007 but we literally had to call and change our honeymoon to Maui on the way to the hotel for our wedding because of the hurricane. So for our 5 year anniversary/my 30th b.day we're kind of taking the honeymoon that wasn't.
