Can I get a recap on the formula post??
Re: Can I get a recap on the formula post??
Actually, it's just like every FF vs. BF post we have probably ever had. I was going to write out a snarky recap but there's nothing really new in there.
Should hospitals ban formula? You have some people who say yes. And you have some people who say no. It's actually kinda
It really is same ***, different package. Much like generic vs. brand name, lol.
I swear you will miss nothing if you don't read it.

I guess I have my answer.
The original article was by a woman/organization who is very pro-BF and wants hospitals to ban all formula in hospitals, supposedly.
The actual question we were supposed to be discussing was whether or not hospitals should hand free formula samples to all new mothers and/or allow formula reps in their hospital rooms, regardless of how the mother has reported she is going to feed her baby. OR if they should only hand them out by request.
Thus started a debate about how hospitals can't ban all formula because babies would starve, poor people need formula samples, people who did FF weren't encouraged to do so by being given formula, people who did not FF were not swayed by the samples, and all sorts of other things that actually had nothing to do with the actual question, but a lot to do with mommy wars.
Also, studies that show that people who have formula in the house are more likely to stop BFing, but if people stop BFing and we say it's bad, that means we're judging formula-feeders.
Also, Canada doesn't give you free diapers, formula or breast pads in the hospital. And New England doesn't give out the samples without you asking for them, I think.

If you feed your babies formula they will grow up to be serial killers. And hospitals shouldn't have a part in creating serial killers. BREAST IS BEST.
F*ck you, I fed my baby formula and he grew up to cure cancer and invent the self-cleaning carpet. And poor people can't afford formula, so you're starving babies.
Poor people should suck it up and deal. BREAST IS BEST.
Also, hypocrisy about Pampers.
Pampers are different.
Your mom is different.
Rinse and repeat.
