Geez, this board is so dead lately! It's past 10 am and there's no morning thread yet. TGIF today, right?
I woke up in a particularly good mood because DD slept 7 hours straight last night and it was from midnight to 7 so I got to sleep those 7 hours too. It was lovely.
QOTD: What's your favorite place you've visited in the US?
Mine would have to be Zion National Park or Glacier National Park. Actually, pretty much all the national parks I have been to in the US really impressed me and I love the diverse landscapes of the US. So for me it would be national parks in general I guess, but those were my two favorites.
I also love the Florida Keys. Ok, it's hard to choose just one place.

I've been sick with a cough/congestion for a week and a half. I'm ready to be done with this, but my doctor couldn't give me an appointment yesterday or today, and he's out all next week. So my feeble attempt to actually go and grovel for antibiotics was foiled. I hope now that it really is some kind of incredibly resilient virus, just because I don't have any other treatment options anyway. I am not willing to spend 6 hours sitting around the emergency room for this. Even though my stash of imported DayQuil & NyQuil is almost gone.
Poor DBF. He flew halfway around the world to see me, and I've been sick since two days after he got here. And it's a nasty phlegmy kind of sick, so I don't even want to kiss him, because I feel all gross.
QOTD: Volcanoes National Park. We hiked out to the active lava flow back in the day, and it was incredible to watch new land being formed right in front of me. Plus, I got to poke lava with a stick!!!! Definitely in my personal "Top Travel Moments of All-Time."

I woke up late today because I went to bed late last night. I have a lot of cleaning to do around the house but I am going to put it off for another hour or so.
I dont know what I am going to do this weekend. I hope the weather improves soon. I want spring!!!

We just had overnight guests, and they left. It was nice, but I have had it with unsolicited baby advice. I am going to invest in earplugs.
We have dinner guests tomorrow night, and I am so embarassed that DH wants to make burgers and hot dogs. Otherwise, I hope we have good weather, and I can get outside again.
QOTD: I love New England harborside towns. Rockport, MA is probably my favorite place in the US.
I see your ticker has changed. This one is not as exciting. How was the reunion, may I ask? Worth the countdown (sickness aside)?
I hope you feel better and don't have to spend 6 hours in the ER to get antibiotics. When I was pregnant and now that I'm BFing I try all this before going to the doctor: rest, gargling then drinking lemon juice mixed with honey, drinking green tea in the morning and afternoon, eating lots of oranges, and drinking a big glass of water with emergen-c mixed in. Oh, and lots of gatorade/fluids. Feel better soon!
That sounds awful. It's so frustrating when you get something like that and it just won't go away. Do you think it would be possible for your doctor to call in a prescription without examining you? Is there another doctor in the office that you could see?
I am just hanging around the house today, going on day 4 of "total rest" to recover from the Typhoid. I'm starting to go a little stir crazy. I want to go to the market and get a few things, but I still don't have the energy or the strength. The worst part is that I'm getting to the end of my internet credits, once the internet goes I really don't know what I'll do to entertain myself!
QOTD: Sorry Lady, I am going to have to cramp your style here and say Florida Keys as well. FI and I took a road trip down from Miami to Key West a few years back, and it was just incredible. Key West is really something else, I loved it there.
Gooooood morning. I'm moping around because I didn't get the job I really wanted. I can only assume poverty and destitution will ensure so I bought some microwavable Sara Lee cakes. I'm ticked I didn't buy ice cream, because I am in the mood to drown those feelings with food, hard. And the cakes are small. Ho hum.
Good Simpsons episodes are on, though. Win!

Yes, I took the oral vaccine. I stupidly thought that it gave me a free pass to every item of street foot my little heart desired. I should have really known better, but I have learned the hard way that the vaccine is not 100% effective.
I'm really sorry to hear about the job. I doubt it's comforting to hear, but as people say: these things happen for a reason. I'm sure the universe is going to bring you something that is 100X better. In the meantime, I hope your cakes are thoroughly enjoyable. Since you missed the ice cream on this round you might have to eat those cakes, then go out and get ice cream and more cakes to go with it. Just sayin'...
I am far too lazy for that! I could get Ben & Jerry's nearby but it's $12 a pint. Jobless McGee can't justify that!

Yes. That and diptheria killed off my entire family multiple times on that game!
Also, as for the Ben & Jerry's, I used to order mine from a pizza place online and sometimes they would have it half off. During my pregnancy, in the middle of summer, I would order just 3 pints of ice cream and nothing else. From a pizza place. I'm sure they thought I was nuts.

QOTD: I haven't seen too much, and it was all a long time ago. Let's say when I was in the Adirondaks hiking. It was gorgeous. I want to go to Montana like it's nobody's business.
I used to go there for the ice cream as well. But they need to bring more flavors to the supermarkets. I am tired of the same 6 flavors.
Good morning all! From today until Sunday we'll have to take care of moving-related things. Next week will be busy with work so we need to take advantage of the time we have now.
QOTD - I'm with dulce... Las Vegas! I haven't seen much yet but other than Vegas, I have adored Lake George up in NY State and Santa Barbara, CA. We can't wait to visit the National Parks, hopefully soon.
