Essie question

I usually use opi but I have heard so many good things about Essie I decided to try it. I got muchi, muchi.  I love the color but the application is horrible. It is so streaky. Did I just get a bad bottle?

i find most light polishes are pretty streaky on the first coat. i don't wear pale pinks or nudes, but i have some other pastel essie shades that are streaky in one coat, but even out with 2.

  • I don't like Essie, but I think I am in the minority. I find it so watery that it makes a mess. The brush is good, but I find it is very streaky no matter how dark the color and it always chips so quickly and comes peeling off in one big piece.

  • I hate Essie. I bought a bottle and it was awful. The polish felt like it wouldn't try and it kept smudging. I contacted customer service and got a refund.

Ugh! I'm on my third coat and it's still streaky and looks awful!!

  • I think it depends on the color. I like Essie, but I don't like ALL Essie colors. Same with OPI, Zoya and all the other brands. Which is frustrating because I feel like you never know how it's going to act until you buy it.

  • For me it depends on the color.  Some are not good, but I like most of them that I have tried, that is my preferred brand.

Me too. I didn't like the Essie color I tried, but there are just as many OPI colors/formulas that I don't like as well. It really just depends.

  • I like Essie, but it does seem to always take at least 2 coats if not 3, depending in the color. I think it peels/chips faster than OPI for sure, IMO. But, I can't always have polish on more than a couple days (I can't exactly go to a client meeting wearing bright green polish or something).

  • I always have had mostly good experiences with Essie. I prefer OPI. The color is thicker and lasts longer IMO.
