Color safe dandruff shampoo?

When my hair is not highlighted, Neutrogena T-gel works really well.  I can't use it now, though, because it can turn highlights orange.

I found from googling that Pureology has a color safe dandruff shampoo.  I went to Ulta and they no longer carry it.  Now that I'm looking at the shopping results online, it seems to have been discontinued, because I can't find it for sale online, either.

Stuff like tea tree oil doesn't work for me.  I need something with actual dandruff medication.  Does anyone know of anything?

  • I highlight my hair and it's light blonde.  I use T-gel and have never had an issue (actually I use the genetic version that I but at either Kroger or Target).

    * I do only use it about once/week though.  Daily use could be another story.

Interesting.  Once a week is good for me, too.  Maybe I'll try it but just keep it at the roots.

  • I have sebopsoriasis on my scalp and use Neutrogena's T-Sal a lot. It's a yellowish color, so I don't think it would change the color of your highlights. I just wouldn't use it every day because it could strip your color.

Redken actually has a dandruff shampoo as well. I would think it would be better for your color than drugstore shampoos.

  • The only thing that's worked for me is Rx stuff I got from the dermatologist.

It's never messed with my color, though I do an all-over red with no highlights.

My response isn't particularly helpful, lol.

  • I don't have color treated hair but I use & like Ion Anti-Dandruff from Sally's & it says it's safe for colored hair.
