Poll: Weird looking babies
So, I have a friend with a weird looking baby. Every time I see a new pic posted on facebook, I think what a freaky looking baby she has. Anywho, someone brought up the question on the FFC of whether or not the parents realize that their baby is freaky looking. I wanted to poll all of you mothers and out there to see if mother's love really does blind one to the oddball appearances of one's offspring?
Re: Poll: Weird looking babies
I don't think so because in the beginning I thought my baby was kind of odd looking and I always secretly hoped to have a skinny, long baby like my nephew (omg, don't flame me!) so I was shocked she's such a chubster. Although now if anyone said my baby was funny looking I would be like, "WTF, shut yo mouth!" and wouldn't believe them because I think she's beautiful!
I used to go around saying all babies are beautiful after the birth of my nephew when I was 15...and no, sadly no not all babies are beautiful. I mean they are, but yes some are rather funny looking even if they are little miracles.
Mine looked like what would happen if mr burns and a t-Rex mated.
I thought he was the most beautiful creation on earth.
But you do admit now that he was funny looking? My mum still will not admit my sister was a weird looking baby. Do the mommy blinder-goggles wear off after a while when you can objectively look at a baby pic, or do the mommy blinders continue for life? I want to know if there is a funny looking adult if his mom still thinks he is handsome or if the mommy blinders are solely for the evolutionary purpose of keeping mothers bonded to their infant children and no longer work with adult children?
I had a friend in high school who was extremely vain. It kind of cracks me up that her baby is... not the cutest.
This is how I feel about Selfie -- the woman who write prebabyblog. I think her baby is a little funny looking.
I think it's odd that she mentioned at one point that her baby had baby acne or a rash or something. She had one photo that kind of showed it, but the rest have been photoshopped.
Not blinded at all. I think that both of mine were a bit funny looking. Lochie looked a lot like her dad but she was very jaundiced and her eyes were so dark. She was very funny looking.
Kaitie came out looking like a dead ringer for my dead grandfather.
Both very strange looking, and you couldn't imagine the guilt I felt in thinking that!
They're both very cute now, though, so it turned out okay. But I worry that Lochie will have her father and grandmother's cankles...
Chronically hilarious - you'll split your stitches!
I wrote a book! Bucket list CHECK!

I think her baby is perfectly cute! The baby I'm referring to is downright weird looking with googly eyes
James looked like a cross between a tortoise head and one of those alien's with the odd shaped heads.
DH and I used to discuss it at 2am in the morning when he would not sleep.
See what I mean?
Not at all. Looks like a cutie pie to me!
Thanks, but I really thought he looked like a cross between an alien and a tortoise
But he grew into his looks -
These were taken between 5 and 6 months old.
Blushing: He's a cutie pie!
I don't know why I think Selfie's baby isn't that adorable. I guess I just thought she'd come out blonder and...I don't know, different I guess.
