So we had the fun experience of spending most of last night at the Apple store. No, not playing with all the fun toys, but trying to get my laptop fixed. The stupid thing froze, and then would stall every time we tried to reboot. Luckily, our hotel isn't far from the apple store here, so off we go to the genuis bar to see what they can do. I totally thought it would be something simple. Nope. The hard drive was completely shot and they had to replace it!
So at least I have a computer now, but it's a complete shell of a thing, with none of my files, music, movies or applications. I'm hoping against hope that everything is backed up (as it should be) back home in London. I *think* the only thing I lost was all the tax prep I did this week (which sucks big balls to have to redo, but it could have been worse).
But definitely not the way I wanted to spend the evening (or spend $230). And this macbook is only a few years old, so I'm really surprised it crashed so soon. Ugh.
Re: Ugh! Stupid computer!
That stinks. At least it is working now, but boo to having to spend extra money on your vacation that you were not expecting to spend.
FX that everything is backed up.
I hate unexpected expeses like that esepcially on things that aren't that old!
Glad the apple store got it fixed and I hope you at least got to play the fun toys for a few minutes.
