AWing my run last night

I haven't posted much in a while - okay, like a year or two, but now that I'm back to running regularly and have some races on the horizion, I'll be around more!

I am training for the Trail Half Marathon on April 28 in Pickney, MI - I'm pretty pumped.

This was supposed to be my "biggest" week of training, but I have been on spring break from school,so running has been when my husband is home and able to watch the kids, so I missed a run earlier this week.

I decided to head out for 4- 5 last night, but the loop that I thought was only 5, ended up being 6.  I totally kicked butt and held just under an 8:30 pace for it!  It felt great!  Most of my runs have been in the 8:45-9:30 range lately.

That run definitely helped me feel ready for 10 on Saturday, and have hope that I'll make it through the half in a few weeks.

If this race goes well - and by well I mean, I finish without embarrassing myself - then I'm hoping to sign up for the full marathon that they have up there in September (run Woodstock), so we'll see. I have the summer off to devote to training, so that'll help.

Re: AWing my run last night

  • Can I just tell you how jealous I am that you get to run the trail half on Poto?  It's one of my most favorite places to run and one of my favorite races.  I just don't think a trail like that is safe for someone 32 weeks pregnant.  Big Smile

    Have fun and good luck!!

  • That's great, congrats! Enjoy the high today :)

  • Congrats. Love it when a run feels great and love the pace! I was able to hold an 8:39 pace for 1.5 miles yesterday, so now my goal is to get that to 3 and then 6 miles.
