It wasn't the dating type date because the guy has a GF back home but I had a fantastic time. He contacted me a couple months ago via my blog because he comes from my country and just got transferred in my State. We've been chatting on and off ever since and we finally met last night. We clicked right away. I've never laughed so much! I was crying laughing. He is super easy going and laughs easily. He paid for all the food and the drinks too. We met at 7pm and parted ways at 11pm even though we were only supposed to meet for 2 hours since he is flying back to our home country today for work.
I am glad I've met someone cool to hang out with. Ever since XH left, I've been building a great social network and I have a lot of fun. Our next meeting will be with other people for my birthday party in a month. And he agreed to sky dive (it's hard to find people to do so)!
Re: So hey, I had a great date yesterday
I'm confused. You had a great not dating date with someone who has a girlfriend?
Isn't a not-dating date a contradiction?
Making a new friend? Going out with a friend?
I'm getting the sense that this might be a language/culture mixup... really date means a romantic thing.
I'm glad you made a new friend!
Yeah you're probably right. I've always used this term though. People use it frequently too, probably as a joke, when we make plans.
I use the term "date" for more than just romantic adventures. I have "lunch dates" with my friends or coworkers. I have "movie dates" with my kids. I guess I see the term "date" more as a scheduled time.
I agree with this but... I think when you're talking about going out with a new friend who has a girlfriend, date is not the word to use.
I will agree with that!!
LoB, glad you had fun! And good luck with the sky diving, better you than me!!
PS--remind me again, where are you from? Sorry, I forgot!
