Stretch marks cream

I have teenager stretch marks on my buttocks but my first pg (thankfully!) did not left me any more that what I already had.

Now I am 11 w and I am starting to grow a belly and my boobs are being sore from day one so I have been starting to apply cream more religiously than ever. DH and some of my friends think I may not need it, because, according to them, I will bounce back the way I am (I should say was).

Hello people?? I may not. My skin is not the same as it was 5 years ago (heading to the big 4-0 here).

In the fight against stretch marks, assuming everyone's agrees that genes and skin type play a major role, do you think one cream is better than the other? And what is your favorite?

TIA

Re: Stretch marks cream

  • From what I have read, stretch mark creams are a load of BS. It's all about genetics.

This is what I've heard too.

That said, I saw some stretch mark and scar cream at Costco the other day for $120 and I was soooooooo tempted to buy it in hopes that it would work. I figured for that cost, it has to right???! But then I came to my senses and didn't buy it because everything I've read says nothing really works but time... :(

Sorry but I have to agree with this too.  When I was pregnant I used the Body Shops cocoa butter and liked it, but around the 8 month mark those stretch marks came on with a vengance and there was no cream or lotion in the world that was going to stop them :(

I read lots of good things about Bio-Oil, but but the time I tried it the damage had already been done. On the plus side, they have all turned white now and I honestly hardly ever notice them.  They are not nearly as bad as I expected them to be.
