last night's Rachel Maddow clip
Republican "strikes" when it comes to dealing with women. I got some chuckles out of it. It's about minutes 1-12 on this link, but here's a summary if you don't have the time or inclination to watch.
1. Priebus equating women with caterpillars to prove there is no war on women.
2. Sean Spicer says using the term "war" is unpatriotic, so don't say that... featuring the GOP official website's "Obama's War on Coal." (not to mention the War on Religion)
3. Sean Spicer trots out a bunch of R women who say there is no war on women... except that at least one of those women said there is a war.
4. the Ledbetter question "pause"
5. Romney tries to make up for the Ledbetter pause by trotting out some female R's who say he will support it. But those same women voted against it.
6. Rosen's comments created some potential. Then the R's screwed it up by saying she works for Obama, etc. (and she doesn't) and then with the lesbian comments.
7. Spicer says that was a terrible thing of the Catholics to say because adoption is a blessing that should be encouraged. Except that his party discourages gay adoption. So he was defending Rosen against the "not raising her own kids" snipe except that he thinks she shouldn't be raising kids.
I'm sure there is some fact-checking issue-- it was nonetheless good for a few chuckles.

Is there any sign that the Republican party at the national level is trying to get politicians at the state level to ease off their whole war on women?
Also - the article they discuss about the fates for the four Republican senators from NY who cast the critical votes for gay marriage was very interesting. Seems like they all stand a decent chance of being reelected. The gay grandmom rounding up friends to join the Conservative party is just a fantastic bit of craziness.
