Denim midi/maxi skirt - slit in front or back?

I have a Mother Denim skirt I got last fall that I love except for one thing -- it hits mid-calf and there is no slit, and I don't have enough range of motion. It's awkward to walk in, and forget running (which one must be able to do when SAH with 1 and 4 year old boys).

I'm taking it back to Nordstrom today to have the tailor add a slit -- would you go front center or back center? I've seen it cute both ways.

This is similar to the skirt, except my wash is darker and the cut is slimmer. Thoughts?

  • I suppose I could always have them shorten it, too. Is this length fug? This was purchased with the intention of covering unsightly spider veins from pregnancy, which unfortunately extend pretty low. BUT...I'm trying sclerotherapy on Monday so I'm hoping to actually bare my legs this summer.

  • I would shorten it and add a small slit in the back. Front slits look awkward when you sit down so I don't like them.
  • Slit in the back, I have a 7FAM denim skirt with slit on the front and it's so uncomfortable to sit, I have to always pull and tug and adjust so I am not flashing everyone, needless to say I don't wear the skirt often!!!

    Agreed.

That is an excellent point! Back it is.
