Crap. Diagnose me, por favor.

Backstory: Wednesday I didn't bring any shoes to change into after my run, but I had to work at a track meet until 7.  My Wave Riders are awesome to run in, but not comfy to wear walking.  So of course, my foot was hurting...like bruised.  But it was fine yesterday.

Cue today's long run.  About 14 miles in, it starts to hurt.  Like bad (and i'm not a baby).  But I suck it up because it sort of numbs out.  And it's only hurting right in that one spot, so I figure I'm okay.  Which I was.  In fact, it was the *other* leg that started getting super heavy.  Anyhoo...

After a new time and distance best, I found this on my foot.  Methinks it's bruised.  I'm taking tomorrow off, and can move my Sunday run to Monday.  Now I'm thinking I need new shoes.  Ugh.  It's super tender, there's definitely a bump under there and the thought of putting on shoes right now makes me cringe.

  • I can't tell if that's the inside or  the outside of your foot, but I had something that looked identical on the outside and it was the beginnings of heel bursitis. I took a week off and was good to go.

  • Is that the outside of Left or the inside of Right? Do your Wave Riders rub on your foot the wrong way? I'd cover it with a blister pad to for starters, and ice when I could.
  • It's my right.  And it's definitely where the shoes hit there.  It's so weird...this has never ever been an issue when I run in them until today - after walking in them for 6 hours. I think maybe because it's swollen a bit, it rubbed today?

Clearly I have a gait change between walking and running.  Smile

  • eek! I prob wouldn't wear those shoes again.

After RnR my foot was bruised deep inside (no mark) and it took about a week for me to be able to run again. I iced a lot.

  • Looks like a bruise to me. I occasionally get them after mountain bike races when I cycling shoes rub. They go away in a few days.
