Question about kids and overseas PCS
If your orders had your family moving overseas (spending many hours on planes or waiting in airports) with a newborn who had not yet received their 2 month shots, would you just go and have the shots at the new duty station? Or would you/your husband (whoever is the service member) find out if you could have the RNLT date pushed back until the child could receive atleast the first set of shots?
Re: Question about kids and overseas PCS
That is what I am leaning towards. Especially because I am surprised the overseas screening office said it won't matter if we only have 4 weeks between birth (if the baby is born ON the due date) and RNLT. I thought the medical clearance (for myself) would include a 6 week PP appointment including a pap.
J said he is fine with whatever makes me feel most at ease. I think I would prefer it if he could get the date pushed back a few weeks. If we can push it back a few weeks, DS1 could have a normal Halloween, although it is more likely that our HHG will not arrive by Christmas. But I just don't want to have to worry any more than necessary about traveling with an infant.
We are going to Guam, which is a US territory, so maybe that is why they say there is no issue with it being easy peasy to leave whenever after the baby is born/to get the baby on orders.
But, I was still surprised there was no mention of atleast needing 6 weeks for me. We will obviously do whatever we have to do, but it would be suuuuper nice if we can all travel together as opposed to DH going ahead and me traveling with DS1 and the new babe. All of the possibilities and unknowns are killllling me.
