A Makeup re-application poll

Re: A Makeup re-application poll

  • Special - if I am going out straight after work, I just reapply over my makeup as needed and blot my face with blotting pads if it is oily. If I am going home before I go out and if I have the time, I may wash my face and reapply.

    Totally agree

  • It honestly depends on the event.  Sometimes I'll just brush more powder over what I'm already wearing and add more mascara, but sometimes I'll start from scratch.

  • Ideally, I wash my face and start over.
  • I always wash my face. I even keep a bottle of face wash and washcloth in my desk for this purpose.
  • I rarely start fresh, but if I do I use a makeup remover cloth. It's one of the few times I use such a product.

I always want to completely re-apply, but given the chaos of getting ready to go out when you have two young children underfoot and a babysitter to debrief, I'm usually lucky to have enough time to brush on an extra coat of mascara and touch up my powder/shadow before we have to leave the house.

Someday personal grooming won't be such a complicated logistics operation!

  • I usually just freshen up by reapplying things like eyeliner & mascara. I blot my face of oil, but I have a thing about reapplying foundation without washing my face, so I will put new powder over existing foundation.
  • It depends how much time I have and how funky I feel. I try to wash my entire face and re-apply everything, but that's not always practical. In those cases, I'll use blotting papers, re-powder, blush, eyeliner, shadow. (no more mascara)
