Cleaning Cabinets, Baseboards and Trim?

What are the best methods for cleaning painted kitchen/bathroom cabinets, baseboards and trim?

Re: Cleaning Cabinets, Baseboards and Trim?

  • I have found that for my painted cabinets in the kitchen i make a sink of hot water and vinegar with a few drops of dish soap. I love it. Works great and im not afraid if it wearing down my paint. I use a good micro towel. when i vaccuum, i use the hose and suck the dust off the basebords. everytime. We have all hard surfaces so they get dusty. Then when ido my moping i hit them with the rag while i am down there anyways., Just using whatever i am moping with. Usual vinegar and water, sometimes its mr clean.

  • I always use clorox wipes for pretty much everything. I'm not sure if you're supposed to use them on painted surfaces but I've never had an issue with them. Vinegar also works but it'll make your house smell terrible for a while. I used to use vinegar but I couldn't handle the smell anymore.

  • I clean all those things with a 50% vinegar solution and a rag or microfiber cloth.
  • I just use hot water and a rag.
  • I use a Clorox wipe or a wet sponge and Lysol Kitchen cleaner. I wipe down cabinets weekly so they don't get bad. Baseboards and trim about once every 3 months.

  • To add to this....how do you get in the corners of base boards to clean?  My regular rag won't get in those tough little spots.

    An old toothbrush works great.
