Things to do, what to see in Downtown Toronto
We are thinking about going to Toronto Memorial Day Weekend. We assume you don't need a car in downtown Toronto? Any ideas on what we can do or see while we are down there. Is the weather okay around that time? Thanks!
Re: Things to do, what to see in Downtown Toronto
I hitched a ride on a business trip my husband took to Toronto in early March and we had a great time. We did have a car, but I imagine you could easily get around without one, especially if you stay somewhere centrally-located. We were at the Holiday Inn Express and it was a great location, clean, and had an awesome free breakfast. There's a huge indoor market a block away that I'm still kicking myself for not checking out.
We went to the CN Tower and Casa Loma and enjoyed both a great deal! Okay, my husband wasn't into the CN Tower - he hates heights. But it was fun
Casa Loma was beautiful and we spent hours there.
If you're into hockey, I hear the hall of fame is great. We're absolutely not, so we steered clear
Memorial day can still be a bit iff weather wise. More than likely it will be springish weather but it could get really stinking hot too.
There's a subway, buses and streetcars. You don't so much need a car and parking is $$.
The AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) is a great spot as is the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). The Bata shoe museum sounds boring but is actually quite neat. You should look into what shows are playing, since TO is Broadway north. You could also see what live acts are at the ACC or Skydome. If the Blue Jays are in town you can watch a baseball game. Don't miss out on the Eaton Centre, which is mall with all the major labels. Taking the ferry across to Centre Island is fun.
Have Fun!
