We're trying to plan a cruise for the summer and trying the Western this time. The itineraries have me stumped. I know I want to do Honduras and I'm pretty sure Grand Cayman, but if I had to decide between the two, what would your recommendations be?
In Honduras the port is Mahogany Bay and I'm not sure of the GC one. We're travelling with my 6 year old and he's never been to a beach before. It's also his first cruise. Don't need recs on the line, just the itinerary.
Thanks!
Re: Western Carribean Recs
You'd be going into Georgetown, Grand Cayman, which I do like a lot. Haven't been to Honduras so no idea how it compares.
If you think your 6-year-old would like a beach, Seven Mile Beach on GC is gorgeous - clean, safe, nice calm surf (usually) for splashing in. Grand Cayman is probably the safest / cleanest island in all of the Caribbean.
If your 6-year-old is particularly adventurous and can swim, there's also Stingray City - the water is waist-deep out there so you could easily swim with him / hold him as necessary. The stingrays are really sweet and tame, and it's an enjoyable experience (but he might still be a little young).
