Well, this is sort of weird. To be home and not just be on vacation.
So far I've had my breakfast (sitting at the table like a real human instead of plopped in front of the TV) caught up on Words with Friends and Draw Something (Donna, I really liked your barbedwire drawing!) and now I'm ready to start tackling (slowly) my to-do list for before Chewy gets here.
We had quite the weekend of visits. Saturday morning (later than planned, as per usual) Derek's parents arrived and helped us out around the house. Derek and his dad got the kitchen ready to install the over-the-range microwave (which required a 5" diameter hole through the side of the house) and finished up the wiring for the stove. Derek's mom just started cleaning. And cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. My whole ground floor looks amazing. I don't think this house has every been this clean.
I'm super grateful, as I'm a really terrible house keeper. I am, however, now trying to keep things tidy down here.
I went into Toronto on Saturday night for a friends bachelorette. It was fun to have one more night out with the girls, even if I left after dinner (though that was still 10:30 pm).
Yesterday Derek's sister and her new boyfriend made the drive down to hang out. We ended up playing a board game for hours and it was a lot of fun. He seems like a really nice guy, which is awesome, because she's dated some real losers (though they didn't always appear so at the time).
Anywho, enough about me, how was everyone else's weekend??

Blender - so glad to hear the spotting has stopped.
My weekend was great. Saturday we dropped the boys off at MIL's and had a nice long ride on DH's Harley. The weather was amazing, and it was good to spend some quality time together. Saturday evening we headed down to NH, and spent the evening with friends. It was great to see everyone since we missed the last big get together. I only wished I felt better as I came down with a head cold Friday.
Yesterday, we spend a lot of time playing outside. The weather has been great and the boys are loving being out of the house. We then had a leaky faucette in the bathroom, and did a trip to Home depot. Of course there are so many things I fell in love with that I browsed while DH was getting all the parts he needed. However on a plus side we are now talking about adding a 1/2 bath to our laundry room sooner rather then later.
Tonight will be finishing up laundry, and hopefully playing outside for a little while before bed.
Have a great day ladies.
Happy Monday. I'm at work, and I'm so not ready for a Monday morning.
Our weekend was good. Friday night we hung out around the house. I did laundry most of the evening. Saturday morning we got up and left the house before 11. We sent off our taxes and then headed out of town for a friend's 30th b-day party. We spent the day hanging out with one friend before meeting up with the party that evening. We spent the night and then drove home yesterday. By the time we got home I was exhausted and didn't accomplish much else the rest of the day. At least I had planned ahead for my exhaustion and did all of the cleaning and laundry on Friday.
Today is back to the grind. This weekend my sister and I are hosting a bridal shower for our FSIL (my brother's fiance). So starting tonight I need to start getting my house ready for company this weekend, and start prepping for the party.
Good morning! I'm soooo sleeepy this morning. I was woken up three times by raccoon fights outside our window. Damn city raccoons; they're so noisy! I found out that I'm not being surplused from the school this year (huzzah!) and I'm being replaced my a long-term supply (double amazing) which means that I can come back to my job any time I want to next year. That's a huge financial weight off my shoulders to know that if things get tight, I have somewhere to go.
The highlight of my weekend was making Strawberry Buttermilk Sherbet from this month's Cooking Light (does that make me totally lame?). OMG, it's SO good. And if you replace ? a cup of the buttermilk with whipping cream? DROOL.

Good morning! Uneventful weekend. On Friday we took it easy, had a quick dinner, and then went to bed. Saturday was the usual: some chores, errands. I got up early and did 7.5 miles outside--it was lovely! Sunday Josh had to work, so I did some shopping for our vacation, de-scaled the Keurig, did some laundry, and got some reading done. And I made some awesome burritos for dinner. I was quite proud of myself.
This week I just have to survive three work days. I have Thursday off as a flex day, and on Friday we leave for Cancun! Here's hoping it's not too crazy at work ...
Have a great day, all!
That's great news kaesha! And that sherbet looks soooo good, too. May have to try that one.
Jetlag is kicking my butt today since I couldn't get to sleep until after 3am this morning. Hopefully I'll have better luck tonight since I'll be so tired.
On the positive side, I finally got to tell work about the pregnancy today, and everybody is so excited for me! They all made it so easy, and I know I'll have tons of support here throughout the rest of the pg. So many people have also had babies recently, which I'm sure will be a great resource.

@ raynes - I think I would enjoy that for about two days before I became bored out of my mind and started baking my way through any number of cookbooks and starting "projects."
We had a very busy but fun weekend. We went to the symphony on Friday night because we had comps and Sweet Honey in the Rock was sing a commissioned piece for the second half. It was not at all what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it. Jim not so much.
Saturday, we got a new mattress and box spring. Ahhhh, it's heaven and the bed is so freaking tall now that I have to almost jump to get in it. In the evening we went to a wedding reception (the wedding was in October) for some friends and ate a bunch of great Indian food.
Sunday we went to the baseball game. The Nats lost, but a bad day at the ballpark is still better than a good day anywhere else. I love baseball.

Good morning!
My weekend was really good. Friday I hung out with Jason's cousin for a few hours, we ordered pizza and had ice cream and talked a lot but her divorce, our trouble ttc, and other family drama.
Saturday I went shopping and to lunch with my MIL and her twin sisters. They are all serious bargain hunters and clearance hounds, which is extremely funny to watch. Saturday night we had a really weird storm move in, it was thundering, lighting, and snowing really hard all at the same time.
Sunday it was cold and snowy so I cleaned and did laundry all day, and I mean serious cleaning like reorganized closets, moved furniture, the whole 9 yards.
