What'd everybody get up to?
Mine was pretty good. I had a baking extravaganza. In my house, that means I baked two different things. I made another batch of chocolate chip cookies since the last ones I made were for someone else so I only got one. And last night I made these: http://healthyeatsandsinfultreats.blogspot.com/2008/05/double-peanut-butter-cheesecake-swirl.html
I haven't gotten to try them just yet since they had to cool and then I went to bed, but I can't wait. Mine are not as pretty as Vicki's, of course. I am not good at swirling.
I also got my hairs cut, which was long overdue. Now I just need to get it dyed.
And I saw Hunger Games again. Upon this viewing, I am pretty sure that when she shoots the mutt that attacks them that it then has an arrow through its head Steve Martin style. It's sort of comical.
Re: How was your weekend?
Mine was busy (but probably uninteresting to anyone else)!
Friday we applied for passports and bunkered down to ride out the 'nados for a bit. Then I drive to my sisters for the night in between storms.
Saturday I ran ~10 miles and painfully realized I was overdue for new shoes which needed to be purchased ASAP so that I can break them in before the OKC marathon in two weeks. Then I had lunch with my sisters/aunt and went to a bridal shower for my cousin's wedding. The wedding is less than a month away and I haven't received an invitation. Weirdos. Then I drove A few hours back home and we went to see Cabin In The Woods while the tornado apocalypse approached again. I do not like those kind of movies in any way. Kevin loved it though.
Sunday - I didn't do a lot other than go to 15 stores trying to find the before mentioned shoes in my size/model. After I got home with them I couldn't resist putting them to use.
Weekend was pretty good. Saturday we saw a 10am showing of The Hunger Games. There were a bunch of olds going to watch the live feed of the opera at the theatre, we felt really out of place. I loved the movie though.
Sunday I went for a walk in the park. The rose garden at Balboa Park is stunning right now. Then we did our usual Sopranos Sunday and watched a few episodes from Season 3. Then we watched Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (the US version) which did not live up to the book at all.
Saturday Lorne got home from work really early, so he took Will to Target while I took Evie to music. Evie's so cute at music. She follows all the instructions and dances and is really good about cleaning up. When the teacher dumps out all the instruments Evie tries to hand out instruments to all the kids.
Saturday night Lorne and I watched some Game of Thrones.
Sunday I made waffles for breakfast and let Lorne sleep in. Then after breakfast I took a nap. Lorne did the taxes and Will and I made soft pretzels and I had to exercise all my self-control to not eat four of them. They finished baking while Lorne was in the shower and Evie was taking her nap, and Will said, "Mom, let's just eat all of them but save two for Daddy and Evie."
Then we went to the park and had a picnic dinner and played and flew Will's kite, but not very high because there wasn't enough wind. Then Lorne did laundry and I worked.
This weekend was jam packed.
Friday I got my hair done then went to my alma mater for a dinner celebrating the department I was a grad assistant for. It was great, I haven't seen some of these people in 10 years and it reminded me why I got into the community development field thanks to that experience.
Saturday Owen and I went shopping, I got some new bras (thanks Nordstrom for saying I'm still the same size! I thought the gals had shrunk) and Mike's anniversary gift. Owen and I ate lunch together in the food court and he kept snuggling up to me while we were eating saying "aw Mommy, I love you. So nice." Then I went to the gym and grocery while Mike dropped the kids off with my folks. We got fancied up and went to an amazing anniversary dinner. Finally wore my Mad Men dress. It was awesome. I feel like a million bucks in that thing. We had a great time.
Sunday we got up early and went to the horse park for the day with Mike's family for his aunt's birthday. So fun. Got dressed up, good people watching, drinking, beautiful weather.
Of course today I'm wiped out. My office is moving tomorrow so there's a million little things to do before the movers come. And my co-workers are all stressing out. It's annoying!!!
Saturday I went to the urgent care to take care of a raging case of strep throat. I came home and enjoyed some penicillin and cough syrup with codeine, then sat outside on the deck. By Saturday night I could eat again!
Yesterday I grocery shopped and played with Ian on his new swingset while we got the deck ready for summer-like weather.
We moved! It was our smoothest move ever. Saturday night we hung out on our new front porch and had beers, then ate Indian food and crashed. Sunday we went to the old place and cleaned it up, then unpacked and went to a BBQ place in our hood and had the most delicious meal ever. Seriously. Hush puppies with an onion bacon ragout. What.
I'm off today for Patriots Day. Yay.
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
I just worked and avoided tornados all weekend. Kind of lame.
I am off from both jobs all next weekend and I'm making so many fun plans.
Friday night right after B got home from work we went to drop off a finial at someone's house totally out of the way. B would rather drive 25 min than have this belligerent guy who smells like urine back in to pick it up. So we dropped it off (what store does this for you??) and then the three of us went to dinner in my hometown because it's close to where the customer's house is located.
This a$$hole's daughter calls B on saturday screaming about the finials not matching exactly. No, "thanks for dropping it off...", just total b*tch. So B just lost it and said, "yeah, your welcome for dropping it off." and hung up. So annoying.
Saturday I had a baby shower with the best cake pops I ever tasted. It was down the shore so it was killing me that we actually have beach weather in April but we were inside. But I'm thrilled for my friend so it was fun.
Sunday we went to eat at Strawberry Place the walked around Springfest in Nyack, NY. That's always fun. I got a really cool tibetan sweatshirt and some really awesome raspberry balsamic vinegar.
Then B and I were so wiped that we took a nap. E was supposed to be sleeping but instead was talking and singing to a blow up spiderman he insisted on taking to bed with him. Parenting fail on our part.
I call this "quiet time." No failure there. We do this with both kids.
No no. I should've called it a "sleep fail" because his constant talking/singing was interrupting my sleep. I have to have the monitor on because he has 3 white noise machines and i turn the fan on in our room as our white noise plus his that comes through on the monitor. In my head I kept saying to him STFU! STFU!
it was kinda busy. my mother in law stayed through today, so she helped/cracked the whip. friday we spent a lot of the day purging our closets for goodwill, and omg we filled 9 bags between the three of us. saturday the females of the family did some shopping (an excuse for grandma to spoil alison, on her own and on behalf of great grandpa back home). kohls shopping spree! sunday we went to church and derek worked on putting up new gutter guards. and we went to red lobster.
i think by the weekend alison was pretty much over having grandma visit unfortunately. partly because she was excited that we were home, but she would keep yelling NO GRANDMA! THIS IS MY BANANA!/BOOK!/CUPOFMILK! i think it was starting to hurt her feelings. two year olds are kind of insensitive.
AH yes, that is always disappointing.

It was busy. Bug had a friend come over Friday night, they stayed up until four making cookies and doing makeovers.
Saturday Dimi and I did some gardening while Bug and her friend sleep in. He planted all the seeds. Then I took Bug to an emergency Girl Scout meeting (her troop is planning the Camporee for their council). And then we watched Sean so Pdxria and Mr Xria could go on a date.
Sunday I spent the afternoon trying not to kick my sister in the teeth at my mom's 66th birthday party.

Busy and tiring!
On Friday, we went out with a coworker and her husband to sushi and to see Betty Levette. Pregnant sushi is not as good as regular sushi.
Since I am finally allowed to do exercise other than walking (yay!!!!) we rode bikes to the farmer's market. I only rode a total of like 5 miles but my butt hurt a lot on Sunday. We came home and did a lot of house stuff.
Sunday we went to Home Depot (as per usual these days) and Costco to spend all of our money. Then came home to do more house stuff.
We also spent a lot of time babying a sick cat (Ivy, my favorite, if you must know). She was so pathetic, it broke my heart. She's never been this sick, but she's finally getting better as evidenced by her purring last night. It was the first time in days I'd heard her purr. I almost cried.
11/11/11 = 5 years. Woah!
If you don't mind sharing, would you tell me where you are in the process? I know some positive things were in the works, but I think I missed an update. I'm kind of a weird internet person cheering you on.
Saturday I ran a 10K race after not running for 2 weeks, and I did ok! My husband ran the 5k and I think he's getting competitive with me. He was proud he took a minute off his time, but I think he was a little jealous that I did ok (for me) after not working out!
Sunday I went to Ikea to buy some furniture for the guest room we just painted. Why did I think putting together an 8-drawer dresser from Ikea was a good idea?? My right hand is falling off today!
