Sisugal is secretly a Democrat!

I saw a car on the highway this weekend with a license plate that said SISU II. And it had a Recall Walker bumper sticker.

Can't believe she's fooled us all this time!  Stick out tongue

Re: Sisugal is secretly a Democrat!

  • I WAS a registered Democrat for a number of years.  Currently I split my ticket, but have been favoring Republicans.

SISU - is a Finnish word (lots of people with Finnish heritage in WI and MI)  - Sorry, But I support what Walker is trying to accomplish --- his approach is a bit too confrontational for me, however.  Snyder has better success in MI  as he has taken a more low key approach to make the same changes with successful outcomes.

  •
Sisu is a Finnish term loosely translated into English as strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity
  • Very familiar with the word since I am 1/2 Finnish.

I don't think Helper's comment was directed at you...

  • Finnish has a really interesting linguistic history.  It's pretty much unrelated to any other language except Estonian and, to some extent, Hungarian.  Weird.

    Carry on.

  • This whole thread is making me laugh. Especially Sisu's deadpan response.
A big old middle finger to you, stupid Nest.
  • I have nothing to add except I'm sitting right next to my friend from Finland right now.   And she's trying to decide whether to bother speaking Finnish to her children.  Weird.

    Okay, that is all.  LOL

is this the first time she's come back into a post to respond?

You just made this linguistic major's heart flutter with that statement.

    Carry on.

  • I know a lady whose farm is named Sisu Arabians. I always wondered where that came from but was too lazy to ask.
