No Mad Men posts yet? (spoilers)
I loved this episode. I'm really starting to like Lane now. Pete had it coming.
Re: No Mad Men posts yet? (spoilers)
Pete so had it coming! I love what Joan said about everyone wanting to do that.
Do you think that there's any connection between Don/*** Whitman and the Texas university shooter? I was a little taken aback that he corrected the last name with such authority. The scene with him and the brothel owner was priceless.
I've always had a soft-spot for Lane, even though he's so awkard to watch sometimes and a bit creepy . I usually feel sorry for him because he's trying so hard to fit in w/ the Americans and wants so badly to be loved and appreciated. He's like a little puppy w/ a cute accent.
And Peter. I was so not surprised last night. You have to wonder how his charming and adorably cute wife deals w/ him. The two of them as a couple have always fascinated me and I wish they show him and Trudy in their home life more. I'm starting to really worry about Pete's sanity, though. He has always scared me a little bit. Like I feel like he might go postal and come into the office with guns blazing or something.
I'm kind of loving Megan more and more. At first I thoguht she would be another Betty, but she can really hold her own with Don and I love that.
They are doing their best to make me not like Don this season. He's just an old curmudgeon now. GET OFF MY LAWN YOU YOUNG WHIPPERSNAPPERS!
Oh Pete. *shakes head*
I like that Lane had heart and busted Pete in the face.
I think this was touched on in a post about the episode with the surprise party, but it was so interesting to see Trudy's dress at her dinner party contrast with Megan's dress. Trudy was wearing a much older style dress and Megan was all hip and new. And of course Megan had to tell Don to take off his suit and put on that sport jacket.
It really shows the dichotomy of where they are in their lives. And how Pete is now the old Don.

Would you like to buy my condo in Salem?
I also kind of felt like in the prostitute scene, he could become violent. I don't know why. Just a feeling I had. I worried something really bad was going to happen in that scene.
The interaction with Don and Pete in the cab - where Don said if he had been with Megan first, he wouldn't have had a divorce. I don't know that I buy that - I don't particularly think Betty was the one to blame for that mess of a relationship. Still - I like that Megan stands up to Don. Way more than Betty ever did.
Gah...those sportcoats were blinding...so hideous.

Joan handles everything in that office perfectly.
I totally could see Pete going postal. I hate him sometimes, but I feel for him, too. All that smugness is an act. You can tell he has always had low self-esteem.
It's interesting because Pete's dilemma is very similar to Betty's when she was married to Don in a way. They supposedly both had everything and had done everything right to get there, but "everything" wasn't all that it was cracked up to be.
And I don't want Don to be a cheating, dark a-hole, but he can't be this all season, can he? And why does he blame all his and Betty's problems on Betty? And not for nothing, he only married Megan because he wasn't with Betty then. I don't see how she's that different then Rachel or the schoolteacher really. He just didn't have the balls to leave Betty for either of them and he wouldn't have left Betty for Megan either. She just happened to meet him when he was single and needy. I know I'm supposed to like Megan and she is a good person, but I don't. If I was Betty and that was my ex's new wife, all Polly Perfect, I would hate hate hate her.
lol @ the sport coats. Here's a picture of my grandparents (they're the 2 on the left) on their anni, either 1968 or 1973. Who would have thought my Gramma, in her bare midriff ways, would still look like the reasonably attired one?
As for the ep, someone's going to utilize the rifle they mentioned again. I see Pete slowly circling the drain, but that might be misdirection.
Sibil - that picture is awesome!!
Your grandma reminds me of my grandma - I think they had the same hairstyle and penchant for flamboyant clothes. I've inherited some of my grandma's clothes. Alas, she was a lot shorter than I am. I need to find a picture of her in this white beaded bell bottom outfit. It's just too awesome!

"He had gum on his pubis!!"
I thought it was interesting when Trudy brought the baby down how everyone ignored her until Ken said something and than Don was really happy to see her.
