Horizon or NordicTrack Treadmill?

DH are looking into getting a basic treadmill to run on when the weather is bad and in the winter.

Anyone know anything about these brands? Preference?

Thanks!

Re: Horizon or NordicTrack Treadmill?

  • I second this quesiton
  • I love my NordicTrack (I know nothing about Horizon.) I'm too lazy to go look and see what model, but it's quiet, runs smoothly, has lots of programs, has fans (that I thought were silly but I actually use!) folds up nicely, and the customer service reps are always polite and helpful. (I've not had major problems with it, just some minor belt movement to one side that neither DH or I could figure out how to fix.)

  • We've had a NordicTrack for at least 5 years now, and it's great. I love having the option to run when the weather simply won't allow for it, or a controlled environment in which to do speedwork. We got it at Sears on a great sale around NYE several years ago.
  • Another vote for NordicTrack! I've had mine for 8 years. I've never heard of Horizon.

  • A vote against Horizon here. No matter what the belt won't adjust correctly. It squeeks while running. The fans don't blow on you unless you are 6 inches away.
  • We have a Norditrack treadmill and love it. We have a Horizon elliptical and it is okay, we haven't had problems with it. We looked at Horizon treadmills but liked the options that Norditrack had better. Plus we got ours on sale so the Norditrack was cheaper.
