cat medicine

I'm looking on 1800petmed for a good heart worm medication and if it takes care of fleas and ticks that would be good too. For all you cat owners... what do you use?

Re: cat medicine

  • Are you looking for heartworm treatment meds or a preventative?

We use Revolution as a preventative for heart worm, fleas and mites. You need a vet prescription for it though.

  • We use Revolution as well. I don't remember what it's supposed to be good for, I'm cat medicine stupid and the vet recommended it.

  • I'm looking for a preventative. I figured I'd have to go to the vet but my brother told me to just go to the website, but at least I know what to ask the vet about.

  • Revolution is what I use on my cat and when I worked at the vet clinic it was always recommended or Frontline.

Youll need an rx bc of the heart worm prevention.

Also, something to consider. Buying from PetMeds, some vets choose not to authorize RX's and won't give information to them. Also. If you choose a prevention that has a guarantee it is voided when you choose a wholesaler such as PetMeds. Through your local vet they'll reimburse you heartworm treatment should you cat end up with it while on prevention and annual testing, etc.

Hmm, interesting... I didn't know that. I guess I'll stick to the vet then.
