How are you? I am feeling sick today so I am just nesting a bit before I have to get up and goo to work
Plus, Publius is making me worried today about the whole tax thing.
QOTD: Did you have a senior trip in high school?
Re: Good Morning!!
To be fair, it's not the tax thing, its the reporting of foreign bank accounts, etc. if they're worth above $10k thing.
QOTD: When I was a junior a girl got pregnant on the school's senior trip so when I was a senior the school's trip was cancelled. I went to the beach in FL with some friends during Spring Break though, if that counts.
Morning! Long day of work, but feeling good. Maybe we'll go out for pizza tonight so we don't have to worry about cooking/dishes.
QOTD: band trips, my friends, band trips. All the rumors are true.
Can you explain the whole band thing? What made you guys go so crazy?
Publius: I cant believe they would cancel a trip over that. That is so silly.
Good morning! I have a couple of minutes before my dinner buzzer rings, so I am messing about here. I had to head to the post office today and I stopped at the newsagent to get a paper and wandered.
I have to stay up late tonight to catch up with my US cousins to get their info for a present for our grandmother's mother's day present -- why I'm in charge when they are all in the same country, and most in the same town, I do not know.
QOTD: Not an organized trip as such, but I did participate in the Close-Up trip, which was a week of "government in action" in Washington, DC. The only problem was that was the week the first Gulf War broke out, so everything was closed mid-week due to national security.
It was a small private prep school. The idea of someone's perfect preshus being led astray under the school's supervision caused some parents to have coronaries I'm sure. There were also rumors about copious alcohol consumption and the use of illicit drugs, but it was the pregnancy that put the final nail in the coffin.
Feeling slightly unmotivated to finish my last big work project of the season. On the one hand, once I finish it, I get to do absolutely whatever I want with my time. On the other hand, I'm terrified. I have no work lined up for the rest of the foreseeable future and I don't know how I will deal with that psychologically once it really sinks in.
QOTD: I made my own senior trip, saving all my money from my part-time job my last two years of HS for a trip to London with some of my friends.
Fine. Have nothing going on today...I do need to make a doctors appt.
QOTD: No there was no such thing.
I'm so tired this morning. Jetlag and a coughing, sick husband meant I didn't get much sleep last night. I can't believe it's only Tuesday, I'm so ready for the weekend to be here already!
I do need to get working on finishing up our taxes. I'm annoyed though, because I had everything pretty much ready to go, and then my hard drive crashed and had to be replaced, and I lost everything. We had it all backed up except for things done in the past week. We're lucky the only thing I lost was the tax stuff, but it's a huge pain to have to redo it all and I haven't found the motivation yet.
QOTD: I didn't do a senior trip, but travelled a bit for sports related events.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
I bet there's a 1 in 100 chance she got pregnant on the trip. That's ridiculous.
Nothing going on for me today. Story of my life.
QOTD: We went to Minneapolis, MN - the big city donchaknow! It was quite awesome and I realized a few people who I had rarely ever bothered to speak to were actually really cool.
Morning. My GP here doesn't do OB care anymore (he did for my mom, but I think that says enough about his age), so he sent me to the ER yesterday to make sure everything was progressing ok. They confirmed the m/c (big surprise) and got me in touch with a follow-up OB, who will see on Thursday whether everything has passed naturally or whether I'll need a D&C. I'm hoping to avoid surgery if at all possible, so we'll see...
QOTD: I went on band trips my sophomore and junior years, but unlike what elenextu reported, they were pretty tame. I learned how to play euchre on one, though... that's pretty exciting, right? Yeah, and they were to Kansas City, MO, and Milwaukee, WI. Our senior class trip was to Six Flags, which was the exact same thing we did for our 8th grade class trip. Lame. My grandfather had just died, though, so if we had done anything more than a day trip I would have had to miss it for the funeral.
we didn't have a senior trip - it just wasn't a 'thing' at our school. We did have an 'unofficial' senior party in the woods somewhere with kegs - that was fun
I went on a band trip once to Georgia - it was totally dull other than we got booed cause that was the year the twins beat the atlanta braves in baseball!
Another day of working in the office, and I seriously need a nap because I slept like crap last night.
QOTD: Yep, to Washington DC for one day. Flew out early in the morning, got home late at night. It was also my very first time on a plane, ever.
Good afternoon! I have a meeting with my therapist in about an hour, then I'm going to a friend's for coffee. My mom sent me a huge care package with way too much candy, so I'm taking some of it my friend's. No plans for tonight, except hanging out at home.
QOTD: Not a school organized one, but with friends, we went to Gulf Shores, Alabama. It was a lot of fun, 20 of us rented a huge house on the beach, one of us had her older brother come as "over 21 year old chaperone". He just bought us alcohol
. We had some disagreements with things, but overall it was a really fun trip.
Good morning...today I am heading down to the New Jersey shore with Emma to visit one of my aunts for the day. Weather is in the 70's today, so it should be perfect for a stroll on the boardwalk.
My senior trip was to Disney World. A bunch of my friends including my BF at the time went. We all had a blast and it was one of my best high school memories...
Lets just say Disney World stands up to the "happiest place on earth" especially when you and your BF sneak off at Blizzard Beach and find some empty beach lounge chairs...
In my defense, we were both 18 and I had no idea that Disney was so well equipped with security cameras back then...
Good morning. Nothing exciting going on here. I work all day then go to my other job to work all night. Althoughhhhhh, if you look at my ticker, it says 1 month! Woot!
QOTD: For grades 11 and 12 I went on our school Europe trip. I had the time of my life and it pretty much ignited my love of travel.
Well, I went to an alternative school where art and music were the few organizations, so the band kids weren't anything unique or different. It was just your standard opportunity for teenagers to be together 24 hours a day without proper parent supervision. Antics ensued.
Same kind of stuff happened at summer camp.
Good morning! Today I have some practicing to do before continuing to pack. Tomorrow I start a new production and won't have much time to do it until moving day. Yesterday we saw the new place and it's gorgeous! When we rented it we were showed the same layout but on a different floor, it looked almost identical but I was really happy to see that in our actual apartment the second walk-in closet is already shelved yay!
QOTD - I went to a foreign language oriented HS so we took supervised trips every year. Although, there's a tradition in Italy called the "100 days" (cento giorni) where all seniors that are 100 days from graduating start literally begging for some change on the streets to strangers to collect enough money for a celebratory trip. If you're ever in Italy and get approached by young kids asking for "something for the cento giorni" that's what they're doing. I didn't participate in my class' trip because I wasn't close to most of my class mates and had no desire to go, plus my parents were letting me go to NYC for the first time on my own as a gift. I think they went to Naples. And let me add that NYC sure beats the hell out of Naples
Good afternoon!
Nothing too exciting today, I went to a drum lesson this morning and ran some errands in the afternoon. My students are on break for the next three weeks, so there isn't much to do in terms of work. I'm preparing everything for my visa interview on Monday, and also cleaning and generally preparing for FI to come and visit on Saturday (so excited!!)
QOTD: I was a huge band nerd. Our field band was involved in many competitions, so we traveled quite a bit. The coolest trip was to Bordeaux, France. The most memorable trip was the time we went to Arizona for the Rose Bowl, everyone caught the flu and was barfing the entire time.
For some reason, I thought I answered this earlier. I just got something in the mail saying that I have to go to the post office and pick up a letter. My H and I both have to do it. Problem is, we have no idea what it is and we have to pay a little over 50 EUR each. Ugh. If we weren't receiving our visas soon, I wouldn't even bother. If it is our visas, I don't know why no one told us there would be an additional cost to pick them up.
QOTD: My high school didn't do that. Unofficially a lot of people went to Spain for Spring Break. I didn't because I had gone the previous year and I started dating someone right beforehand.
